For the 'movies' hint, remember that the context for it was the movies' effects on the reaction of the person meeting Taavi in a dark alley. One movie would be more likely to give them a positive reaction while the other would give a negative reaction, despite the object of each movie being exactly the same thing.

For the 'blue but not blue' hint... aw, man, you've come so close but still missed it. X3 The perceived blueness of this thing varies a lot depending on a bunch of factors - sometimes it doesn't look at all blue while other times it might seem very blue if conditions are right. *cough*cough*hint*cough*cough*

Are there any gemstones or anything that change color in lights? Alexandrite? Opal? Anything else?

I know they said it relates to an object that in turn relates to Taavi, but figuring out the hint ought to at least help out. Where can we apply that to another hint? Vampire movies?

Just to expand on this thought: vampires would fit. After all, fans of "Twilight" might think a lot differently of a vampire than those who watched a movie about "Dracula".
Either way, I have a suspicion that Atwood's pup is going to turn out to be some sort of monster/legendary creature with a bad reputation.

On the other hand, I was looking at the dog in Atwood's signature which triggered another idea. I am really headed out onto a limb here, but blue merle is a dog color that appears blue (especially in the sunlight), but everyone knows the dogs aren't really blue. It's just the mixture of black, grey and white hairs that make them look that way. I clicked picture which took me to Atwood's Border Collie adoptable thread, but couldn't find anything there. However, Atwood's 2014 Staff Pet was a blue merle:

Okayyy. Still stumped on the blue hint. Most things that I can think of that aren't blue but commonly appear blue require sunlight for this effect to be noticeable (ex. Ocean, sky, "blue" fur such as with merles and roans). So would sunlight be the right conditions? Or is there some other blue but not blue thing that we're missing?
