1. "I tried to make my style much more subtle at the pup stage this year. Hopefully it works."
4. "My pup has a facade to keep, too bad it comes with such a cost..."
this pup definitely doesnt remind me of your style at first glance; but but, i guess looking at this pup it definitely does remind me of your designs ?? neat, refined and natural, as a big one. im not gonna go forth and trust a certain style with line edits or shading, but theres my base thoughts. anyhow, moving on. hint four here; i feel like we cant say much about the facade right now except that theres some sort of negativity tied in with it. i feel like your puppers facade has to do more with mentality maybe; theyre acting to be something that theyre not, as opposed to literally being something that theyre not. going upon this, i think that the mask on the pupper might link to the facade ?? maybe its not the entire facade but its alerting the user that there is something to hide there. not to mention, the black mask can conceal any emotion due to the similarity in color with the lineart. for all you know, this pup could be smiling and youd have trouble noticing at first. theres that reasoning.
2. "At its adult stage, it will remind you a LOT of a previous staff dog of mine."
Also I can assure you guys that the hint "At its adult stage, it will remind you a LOT of a previous staff dog of mine." is something that can be checked without having to wait for my pup to grow up. When I said it would remind you of a past staff dog, I wasn't referring only to the final design.
originally i was considering that this could be referring to selkines kiddo growing up and somehow becoming a companion to the pupper; merely because the hint was referring to 'its' adult stage. part of me still thinks that that is at least somewhat relevant to the main idea. aside from this however, with the second comment, i thought of the other possibilities here. despite me thinking that the hint still mostly refers to the design of your past staff dogs,, i was thinking that the pupper this year has a strikingly similar resemblance to selkines hints ?? all indirect, definitely misleading if you didnt think about them hard enough. if not this, both this staff pupper and selkine seem to have super personal meanings to you (if im reading this correctly, most of your staff creations do). anyhow, i doubt that the pupper has to deal with selkine via having a kid; that would imply the pupper was pregnant since it was just a pupper and well, i dont feel like thats the option here. so heres to thinking that you were referring to the tricky hints; nonetheless, selkine does bare some resemblance to this pup too. similar curves in markings and whatnot.
5. "So tired" (reference to their design)
... that hint, specifically, was talking about something else. Something beyond looks and design. You're gonna have to try harder to figure that out.
easily enough, by tired i think you mean the backstory beyond the design and looks. to me, tired isnt referring to the dog actually looking tired; but the backstory ?? i mean of course, we dont know the backstory yet, but just based on pure looks and the dialogue 'hints' weve received, im gonna guess that the backstory is the main thing youre talking about here. just as an additional statement, when i say based on 'pure looks', the pup isnt really smiling. not to say its tired, but it makes me think of a depressive, tiring backstory for it.
3. "My dog's design has very natural looking markings/patterns, don't expect to see swirls, stars or anything of the sort on it."
6. "Since everyone is talking about tails, I might as well tell you my dog doesn't have a curled tail."
so as weve learned before from the past,, youre literal with your words. this being said, i wanna say that you couldve possibly been talking about your dog simba ?? i mean; i would hope that he doesnt have any unnatural markings and from the picture ive seen on deviantart (i did have to do some minor snooping to find out about him) he doesnt seem to have a curled tail. i believe that these 'hints' were to throw everyone off. if thats not the case, maybe the pup gains a canine companion at some point thatll be natural looking ?? selkines child wasnt too unnatural were they ?? still though, i dont think this hint has to do directly with the pupper yet considering the usage of 'dog'. regardless, this pupper is natural and doesnt have a curled tail; like i said though, dont think that is an actual hint when it comes down to it.
9. "Do you really want to know what your biggest mistake is?? You guys are assuming my pup will actually age."
so instead of the pupper aging, you get an aging companion of some sort !!

so heres the day eight shepherd puppy !! theyre a lovely kiddo and im actually contemplating hoarding them because,, seriously adorable ?? but anyhow anyhow, going on. i think this one might be lilians !!1. "I tried to make my style much more subtle at the pup stage this year. Hopefully it works."

Why does everyone think this pup looks tired??
The Anatolian shepherd (which is the closest to these markings) naturally looks that way.

demoiselle; wrote:has anyone else noticed that for her hints, lillian switches between dog/pup?
it could be deliberate.
or maybe, all of the hints under dog do not apply to the pup stage.
is it possible that the swirly pup everyone thought was her style could actually be her pup?
after all, it's a little weird to me that at least two of her hints (no swirls, no curly tail) were specifically aimed to steer us away from that pup.
it could all just be one big circle.
