Spring break is coming up for me. I'll try to look into reproducing the script
high-level overview/grabbing Law's script off of their pastebin link from somewhere in this thread and trying to figure out how to run it if Law can't get back to us soon, or if I can't figure that out then I'll mess with Lya's sheet. Have several appointments already scheduled over break but hopefully I can use my off days
The original gigantic discussion that started all of this was done December 2016 - January 2017 and it looks like more and more users over the past few months are voicing those same concerns but they just missed the boat and therefore thought there was no boat at all. And since this thread has been inactive, they don't see this thread, so I've been seeing a lot of borderline accusatory or outright accusatory questions about the status of the new List and I'm just feeling very, very tired.
Next steps:
> somehow get something up and running for pet counting
>> consideration: distinguish off-account from on-account
> get a census on all original releases and rereleases for the pets of interest (all 2008 non-extended release pets, just to start?
other possible considerations)
>>
ID ranges (~1.8 million pets, definitely want to spread that out) + notes> once we have that data, then we can draw... whatever conclusions we need
>> can also hand data to Crestalia if her prof's still willing after all this time
The draft of the new List is currently with DD and Lya and is in dire need of more information because they only went off of the rarity changes and there's a whole slew of VR pets that have no rarity change data whatsoever.
We definitely want in-litter comparisons (e.g. one toxic is rarer than another).
Since we'll be getting census info, we should be able to directly compare pets from different litters and hope that we don't have to take inactivity into account. But we can only do this if we can exclude off-account pets, because there are a bunch of off-account rereleases adopted.
How does that look?
