When did their adoption release end? If it's a substantial amount of time, then we could just do the time after.

I'd like to help and contribute to the pet counting. I'll take any range of ids in the total of 400-500-ish. (As in amount). Just tell me where to start, and how do you think the best format of the data should be recorded?

And for the pets that were deleted, do we make note of that or skip over it?

Sorbets also adoptable in both July and August.

One of the sorbet or galaxy litter was put up in late July. Other throughout July. Don't remember which.

Do we know exactly when every July and August 2008 pet litter was put up? Were the the others out up at the same time and not gradually through the month? (More or less of course; like if we see all other litters with July 3 adoption dates then that's probably fine)

Aside from sorbet and galaxy, if everyone was put up at the same time, we could do random sampling. Use RNG. This is if we don't want to count everything. Then we could avoid happening to pick a range where just a slew of people were like "ooh I want this white pup"

Very sorry to interrupt, but im a bit confused ahah. so you guys are basically planning on going through pet id's and recording which pets/ what amount you see? [ex- as mentioned in a different example, six sunjewels, four sunbacks, etc?]
id love to get involved, but honestly i dont understand the math/ numbers since i havent been around as long as those who are planning the project and i dont have much understanding of the current list.

We can't use random sampling because we don't have the CEG adoption end dates and all of our pet IDs need to either be in the "in" or "out" camp for that (I am thinking out at this stage). Unsure about the Sorbets. They were after the CEGs afaik.

I was thinking maybe pick a range of 1000 pet IDs from the middle of the month?
Or we could pick four ranges of 250 pet IDs. That might work better.


Grr - we are planning on making an excel spreadsheet to use as a template and fill them with pet IDs, then volunteers look at each pet with that ID and write down what it is (if it's a dog or rat since those are the highest value pets from Aug 08). At the end we bring all the data together and work out how many spotted tribals vs line tribals vs blue balloon dogs for example. I am hoping we can get this going very soon but we need to put together the spreadsheet (I will try to make one tomorrow to put up for feedback) and choose a range of pet IDs for people to look at.

Yes but more to compare. If you count all sunlitters and compare that to any other rerelease we can find out if the ratio is the same right?

Say its 20% sunjewels 30%sunback and 55% nonjewel in 08 and we take a random rerelease and count the sun litter we can see if those numbers sorta match up?

Then wed know if at least the 08s get rereleased with the same ratio and we could assume the others as so too then, right?
