so just looking for an opinion on this trade. if unfair to the quantity side, what needs to be taken away? any help would be appreciated. c:

The top is 14-15 09 rares in value, without including the 2010 rare and the uncommons =3 The Grinner is about 14-16 09 rares (a smidge more than two mid advents) =3 so I'd say it's fair given the list is an approximation not definitive. =3

I'd say unfair to the top, the tops and bottoms are from 2013 slumber party, as a set they go for about a common, maybe an uncommon if you really like items. (so three 2013 commons on the item side for good average) They'd be overpaying, as a 2014 UC would be fair to a 2013 common.

Oh boy, bear with me cuz this is a tricky one:

Rarity wise- it's 100% unfair to the rat, it's a mainlist rat worth about 12 Mid-advents (give or take an 09 rare) the other side isn't even in the ballpark as it were ^^;;

Demand wise- I have no idea. I have my own list rat and I've never had a fair offer on it, so by demand this might be fine. I, personally, try to use the list as a guide as it uses rarity as well as demand (though there is a new rarity only list in progress) and I'd feel bad making someone over pay that much regardless of whether the community perception of demand says it's fair.

Extended: If you really want the rat, that's an AMAZING deal- but if you're trying to trade it away that's where it gets tough: Rats are really hard to trade for fair pet-for-pet price, if you wanted a fair trade or minor trade down (even to the september list) you'll be in for a bit of a wait. C$ offers I've had on my own rat have tended to be much more forgiving- so it's not bad if you intend to sell it, but (as has been demonstrated on the C$ forms) it'll be lower total value than the pet value, and I'm not sure how hard it is to C$ trade back on to the list ^^;; (for advice on selling it, seek a second opinion =3)

would you accept this trade? I paid 2000c$ for my beg (I know it's heavy overpay) and I'm looking for decent overpay. in my case, what would you be aiming to get for it?

I'm trading her, and I completely understand if she wants more. The game kind of runs on profits. If you traded fair every time and never asked for more then you paid then you wouldn't ever get anywhere. If she wants more, then I'm not Appose and certainly don't think she's greedy.

I think what Horror is trying to say is about what we call "False demand" where many traders overpay for a pet only to make others overpay for a pet, on a small scale there's nothing really wrong with that, if you overpaid because you liked a pet or you're reluctant to trade a pet and want over pay that's up to you and who you trade with. But we're seeing this on a larger scale to where so many people are trading for a pet at overpay only to trade them for more overpay that it's creating a false demand.

If you can follow my terribly convoluted example XD
Say we had 500 traders wanting the Shima for their collection, the design is cool so they'll overpay, well there are another 1000 that know Shima is popular, so they set out to get the Shima just to get that little extra overpay they think it'll snag them. Like this it APPEARS that 1500 people WANT the Shima, creating a demand that isn't actually there.

Worsening the issue is the 1000 just trying to get the overpay will trade with each other- making each other overpay and driving up the price all the higher because they still want to get overpaid more- and because they are trading to trade no one actually knows how many Shima there are or what they're worth because the same Shima will be taken by one of the 1000 overpay-seekers and never actually get to one of the 500 that will keep it and take it out of the market.

So where the Shima used to be about 2 09 rares, the 1000 trying to make bank drove the price up to 7 or 8 09 rares before one of the 500 actually manage to take it out of the market.

In short- actual people that want it 500 (actual demand)

People who seem to want it (by amount of trading happening)- XXXXX!? (SUPER demand)
and I'm not trying to be funny with that last one, it's my genuine observation that we don't know how many people would really WANT the Shima to KEEP it, because the Super demand created by the traders who want overpay makes that number go all kinds of up. >.>

In short: Horror really wasn't trying to be rude; it's just a lot of us older players are trying to cut down on falsely generated demand caused by situations like the above. So (s)he was trying to discourage mass overpay for the sake of overpay, not knowing all the details. =3 We sometimes just assume the filler details based on prior experience, so we sometimes seem harsher than we need to be for the actual situation. ^^;; We're only human, after all.

Bear with me, because this is another rarity vs demand thing:

Rarity, totally unfair to the top. The store pet is worth a late 2010 rare, and they have the value of 3 09 rares in the rats alone.

Demand wise: Rats are hard to trade off, getting fair offers is difficult and time consuming, and the T-rex is fairly popular. I think it's still unfair to the top, since the rats would still get 35-50C$ each and C$ trading makes store pets a little easier for me to manage. ^^;; but I'll need to do a double check on the pet value thread for pet-to-pet value =3

thank you for trying to clear that up! I do know that this stuff is happening, about 75% of the people on CS are that way. I still remember the days when you could get a red cerb for a low mainlist and the raven for a green toxic. I guess those days will never return T-T

On the trade itself, that's a bit tricky since it is going to be primarily a personal opinion. You paid more than Sunjewel prices, and woo nelly to that. If you didn't get it specifically for trade and aren't currently comfortable trading it, I'd very simply recommend not to. =3 which is my advice to pretty much anyone who isn't 100% sure, or at least like 90% sure XD

I price List pets by advents to help me gauge prices, and I don't take into account market demand- so bear with me as I've never actually had to do this myself: So you paid a little over Sunjewel prices for the BEG, I'd feel bad expecting anyone to overpay that much on my account, but I would probably aim toward the upper level of the list. Considering the BEG is about 2 sorbets and the Dogtag is 2 nons (6 sorbets) I'd personally probably be pretty happy with that trade on a value-value basis so long as my partner was comfortable with it and so long as I was sure I was willing to trade. =3

thank you for your opinion! I am currently trying to get offers on my beg to see how much people are willing to offer. I won't expect to get more than a sunjewel out of it, that'd be just insane, and I'll try to lower my expectations a bit more. thank you again! ^-^
