*DISCONTINUED* Rares List Guide (1 March 2019)

i see what y’all both mean. demand can be crazy; that’s why i voted for restructuring the list, not just destroying it completely. i don’t think anyone should trade their whole pet collection for one pet, but we do have to consider that some pets are just worth more, ignoring demand completely.

it’s not based on nothing. when we have no trading guide, we have no way to determine what pets are worth more or aren’t worth more. let’s remember the list is COMMUNITY based and has been created by the community. these values are as we have set them over the years.

You guys do know your pets won't really "loose" value, right? There are still 2-3 other lists being made, two of which focus on rarity. Actual rarity according to rarity changes. There will still be lists, and either way it will finally expose a more accurate lists where your hard work isn't being lied about.

I am not a random player with very little list knowledge saying this. I have been actively trading for years and years and have amassed plenty of "list" pets myself. If retirement wins (though from what I gather, it won't as there seem to be loopholes others want to jump through to ensure it doesn't win) it will be an adjustment and a very big change. However, this list is no bible. Yes, trading for the first few weeks would probably be very, very messy, but it would eventually settle itself down and have some stability.

This is not the end of the world, either way though this list will likely die down when other lists are finished/closer to having some answers. In the end really nobody is a winner, this is a game and a user-made list with nothing but trade "evidence" (which can be VERY easily faked) to back it up. This entire thing went way too far. It is a game, your pets will not loose value, the end.

Edit; I am saying this because a BIG argument/fear with retirement seems to be "loss of value.

@darkspawn & i<3 wolves678 if every pet was easy to get, the game would be boring. i was a new player but because of dec 18th i got the chance to have list pets/trade for my pets. that’s the point of dec 18th.
you guys wanting to change the value of pets that are more valuable than regular pets is ridiculous. obviously you should have to work for omgsrs/very rare list pets. if we all got the pets we wanted as easily as we wanted, then we’d be trading commons for very rares.

@catswithsomeconk i disagree. destroying the list will make other players think that list pets are valued the same as 09 rares. while older, senior players won’t, new players will. it’s just a horrible idea to destroy the list after its been here for years and has WORKED for years

You just twisted our words around completely. Never did we say these pets should be easy to get. We said it’s ridiculous that trading like this takes YEARS of your life. And if you disagree that’s fine, but not everyone spends years on a pixel pet game

I understand both side here, and both have licks of truth!

One side says that trading is all the challenge (which makes the game fun), and the other claims that trading shouldn't be so challenging that it takes years to get certain pets.

I can not emphasize this enough as the current belief system of both sides. This is the balance we need, oh, but this balance is oh so hard to maintain, let-alone achieve in the first place.

Our job here now is to find that sort of balance, and whether that fate relies on this list, or some other list, I don't mind. Both sides will have to compromise.

Yes, a challenge is fun but I’d consider a challenge like 6-9 months of trading but YEARS? I spent 3 years trying to get my first list pet. I got it and realized how ridiculous it was because it wouldn’t even go for pets of the same rarity. I traded it off so fast. Like you said, if the list continues there needs to be a balance.

They don't need to be worth your entire collection but to imply 1 OMGSR is worth 5 by law is absurd as Zeitrian has pointed out before. The way the list values gaps between rarity is absurd. Edit: It's pretty heavily agreed upon afair that valuing one single pet @ 10,000 09 rares is literally ridiculous.


The idea of needing some arbitrary list to tell you to a science what pets are worth is ridiculous. The economy can be self-regulating which is what causes a difference between X and Y product (eg. a UR Tiger and a Nonswirl). The UR Tiger is much more well liked and harder to find so it goes for more. That's just supply and demand economics.

That's not even going into general resources we have like rarity changes which help us separate low-spectrum OMGSR/VRs from the higher spectrum ones.

There was at least one experienced trader who said in a previous discussion that their best chance for getting List pets was via offsite trades.

That’s probably a big red flag when it comes from an experienced trader

I myself as an older user and experienced trader, I can definitely back this up and agree with it.
A portion of my older rares and such came from trades with FlightRising, because getting them here is just impossible.

Absolutely agree. All of my friends make their CS living off of aywas and FR. There is just no way to trade on this site. I mean just look at the C$. You can offer to
pay thousands for one pet after you spent your hard earned money on it and nobody will trade you because the list proves that the pet is actually worth 112,000 C$???

As someone who's a powerhouse on FR when it comes to funds and trading, I can confirm. I've had an extremely easier time getting pets i needed offsite than through CS. CS's premium currency isnt even enough in most cases to get low tiers.

(I can buy 80c$ or 500g for the same amount of USD and the offsite currency is always preferred. But thats a whole 'nother issue. )

Yes, I was agreeing with you <3 I personally paid crazy prices for some of my pets, not going to lie. I'm sad that some of these older pets are going to suffer (like my UR rat for the moment, because without a rarity list, it will fall back to something like a few 09's or an 08 or something) without SOMETHING convincing the community how rare the rat actually might be. Beware to anyone with an OMGSR of very low demand.

But again that offsite figure is horrible - for a single pet! (Orange Cerb before it became OMG( there's no excuse for values inflating that high.
For those not familiar with conversions, what I got for an Orange Cerb was 3/4th the price of a Sunjewel.
