okay, but if the community agrees something should be lowered/highered/ or stay the same. so be it, I dont believe a small group of people should make this choice and deeming themselves as trustworthy because "they just are" or because "they know the list & rairtys."

it's fair to add, stay the same into the polls.

if anything why not do a short poll asking them if we should add it into the polls instead of deeming it's right or wrong between several people.

We arent demanding anything, we are debating. If the community cant provide solid evidence that a pet should be moved to a certain place then its not going to be moved. And just because a group of people on this thread disagrees with adding this poll option happens to be regular posters, doesnt mean we are deeming ourselves trustworthy? We are providing our beliefs just as you are, and we just agree with one another. Its nothing hierarchical. I dont think Im better than anyone on this thread, hence why I want more of the community to join into the discussion rather than just vote in the poll. We need all opinions to be voiced for them to be heard and if they arent voiced then we really cant do anything about it, sadly. We cant cater the polls options to be more relaxed simply because of this, itll usurp the list into a demand cesspool. Options need to have evidence and "no change" has no evidence at all.

Simply put, we have discussions about poll options to look at where we should move it. These discussions provide evidence-based arguments to support said tier placement. If we add a "no change" tier, we are allowing the community to ignore the facts and keep the pet where it is. These facts include rarity, supply, and demand. We are placing pets based on these things, with rarity and supply weighing heavier than demand (because that is what the community wanted).

No evidence = not a valid poll option.
Anyone can value pets however they want, that is perfectly fine. But not moving the pet doesnt make sense if discussion and evidence proves it should be moved ^^

Not sure why "duty" throws you off? We are volunteers of this thread, and as volunteers, it is our duty to tend to it with much consideration. Regardless of my wording, its quite saddening to me that you find so much offense to me being so passionate about fixing this list. Its just a list, after all.
And sure, this all may be guesstimates, but at least they are supported with evidence.
Also, please do not crawl down my throat about empathy. Im not here to be empathetic Im here to discuss the poll. Im sad that so many people feel threatened by this thread but I cant do anything about it, and neither can you. Loosening up the poll options wont help anything and will only cause pets to be placed inaccurately. We are trying to steer away from the past, not go back to it. Its not that I dont trust the community to place pets properly. I am aware, though, that not everyone is as in-tune with rarities and what it takes to place a pet. Its realistic.

Those complaining about the thread being hostile have also created a hostile environment. Maybe think on that. Seems like people wanting their voices heard also want to throw away other voices. I never thought a site like this could make me so stressed. Instead of making all feel included you make others feel like they aren’t wanted. Makes me sad tbh and not something I want to be apart of.

This bothers me. No one is complaining, unless complaining is what you call voicing an opinion. There is no one person creating the thread a “hostile” environment, you are just as guilty as i am of that, don’t put the blame on others. We ALL NEED TO WORK ON INCLUSION. Make the thread MORE FRIENDLY. No one should be afraid to voice an opinion.

Bringing us back on topic, i fully support creating a poll for the “no change” option while we still discuss the foal and it’s placement. Perhaps a 3-day poll?

As a "non-regular" who hasn't posted other than asking questions about 6-7 years ago, I have to say:

Thank you to everyone here for helping build this guide. Even if the List has its flaws and imperfections, it's a nice security blanket for the community when trading would otherwise be confusing. I appreciate the amount of commitment and effort that goes into making even a single List placement.

I remember asking a few questions about the List in 2012-13 - they were answered by volunteers swiftly and accurately. It was quick to leave a good impression on me about the community here.

I'd love to keep this a positive place where discussion can be facilitated smoothly, so I'm dropping in to say I appreciate the work everyone has done. Regulars and non-regulars on this thread alike, I'm happy that everyone is contributing their different viewpoints. Thank you to everyone! ^_^

One user wanting a ‘don’t move it’ option and us, non community elites, saying no because we only, at this moment, are moving pets that need to be moved I think. I’m honestly just kinda hurt and sad right now to hear what people think of me, but i think that’s what started it
Tho ‘don’t move’ is to be implement with non-OMGSR pets is what was suggested

Now that I’ve read it I see absolutely no problem with a “no change” option. If anything consider it a test. Put it to a vote if you want. If the community is to have a say they should have a complete say. There is no point in withholding an option. If this option causes problems there can always be a redebate. There is no point in bringing in topics of elitism. Just give the people what they want and if it doesn’t work out reconsider and revise.

The discussion is open to the public. The poll is open to the public. I really do not see what the problem is. Youre implying their votes dont matter because they dont have a say anyways - but they totally do. But if majority doesnt support it then it wont move onto the poll. Its democracy.

We've had this conversation - being public doesn't really matter when the thread isn't welcoming. What ZeyDaan said was entirely true - if people don't feel welcome, there's a good reason why. It's not an open thread. People have said that they don't feel welcome to discuss or give input on this thread because of the environment around it. One person swoops in with a polar view and the ten main contributors group up and denounce it. This is one of few times that there's been some sort of 'new-coming' to the discussion and now the response is, "well now YOU are the one being hostile" because there's finally been a large enough of a voice to adequately challenge the status quo. It's just a cop-out reaction to avoid responsibility and taking action for how this thread really makes people feel and the perception among the community.

Depressedanonymous and I are advocating for the addition of the "no change" tier because it would implement a sense of trust and responsibility within the community to feel apart of the editing of this thread. The issue being that, like contributors have admitted, they don't trust the wide-spread community to give input on the off-chance they vote a way they don't agree with.

Since it was still brought up, I will discuss this. What raven was referring to is the constant posting claiming : "The elites are controlling the thread and the community has absolutely no say on anything". This isn't really a voiced opinion, but more-so directed at users like me that they may disagree with. It brings nothing to the argument and it's targeting users.

But you see, it completely undermines what we are trying to do for the omgsr's. I do not support using that option for the foal at all. If we were talking about placed OMGSR's that are already above the gap, I would not mind this option at all!

This whole discussion broke out because the majority disagreed with an idea provided, and was attacked for it because they were "not inclusive". I dont feel much respect either. I dont want the "no change" option because its not practical and doesnt help place the pet. I feel like my opinion is just as valid but its being invalidated because I post here frequently.

We will get flack whether we support rarity OR demand. The community decided to focus on rarity. This requires substance and evidence behind placement options. Im sorry if you disagree but the majority voted to focus on rarity.

This is exactly my point though. People are so quick to run from this thread when their ideas are denounced by a lot of people, but we need majority to rule on ideas. Their ideas are being heard but they are disagreed with and that is okay. There is nothing hostile about that because majority is necessary. We dont "jump" on anyone.

It's not just one user who wanted the don't move it option, I'd like to say I support it as well. I agree that these pets should be moved up but if we don't offer the choice to people then I don't even see the point in voting.

It keeps being presented as a fringe minority opinion but that doesn't seem to be the case? So I guess I just wanted to clarify my stance. It doesn't really seem like a very minority opinion so I don't know why it's being dismissed as such
