I feel like this list is on the brink of basically destruction. Has it always been like this?

Those complaining about the thread being hostile have also created a hostile environment. Maybe think on that. Seems like people wanting their voices heard also want to throw away other voices. I never thought a site like this could make me so stressed. Instead of making all feel included you make others feel like they aren’t wanted. Makes me sad tbh and not something I want to be apart of.

I’m sorry that member feels that way, but the mistrust on both sides is mutual then. Both sides are to blame, I wish people weren’t constantly drawing lines between us. There’s no elite party, only the commity. I’m sorry people don’t feel comfortable, I’m sorry it’s become a scary place but that doesn’t mean I’m not part of the community

It’s like any vote where the majority gets the decision made. The minority is important to hear, I like to listen, but they don’t win being the minority. I understand that upsets people that their idea isn’t wanted, but when there’s 6 people says it’s not helpful at this time and 5 say it is, the math is there and plain for all to see. It’s not meant to be hostile or ‘ignoring’ you it’s just the way the world works...

I'm considered an elite as well, apparently, but that will not change how I feel about something. I dedicate my time to discuss and share the facts and opinions, and if that makes me "an elite", I'm proud to be one.

The "elite" circle is open to opinions, and as I said before, it only takes 1 person to change all of our minds! We try to discuss logically before opening to the polls so we can set options based on the evidence and discussion before we open the polls. We don't know what the community wants until people start speaking up! But us, as logical thinkers, will consider and elaborate on the proposed ideas, not just agree to them blindly just because they aren't a regular. (if that makes sense?)

The list was fine years ago but with the new URs and demand based trading it is now an irreparable mess. It shouldn’t be the base for trading anymore imo but some people think they need it until the Rarity Project is finished. Nonetheless, I don’t think it is a valuable source of information anymore but that is just my opinion.

I don't know where you got that idea from but the idea was more the fact that regular opinions here are more validated than new-comers or polarising opinions. It's a bit weird to spin that on it's head. Like others have mentioned, I don't think anybody particularly dislikes others on here just because they are regulars. They just hate the environment on the thread itself. Not the people behind it.

I get the second part. It does really feel like there are two polar sides here - us vs. them - which it shouldn't be. The list is a community project meaning that the figures on the thread should be many, not a few and of many different opinions, backgrounds and ideas.

The third is against the sentiment I'm pushing. Your majority is my minority - the few on here that regularly post and effectively decide how the rares list shifts. The majority to me, your minority is the userbase which don't like to come on the thread for fear of the environment.

I honestly don't think anyone was being hostile - they're just putting forward different opinions and sentiments and offering up their own personal experiences which is a good thing. I think this just circles around to what Animall said about being unable to accurately show intent in the words you use because of the lack of informality. I don't think anyone means badly at all. We should come together as friends and empathise with each-other rather than like above view it as Us Vs. Them.

I always thought the list never made much sense. With the "Big Gap" and stuff it has confused me since I've joined and I quickly gave up on the rarity aspect of the site. My probably poor understanding of the list has kept me from posting on this thread but I thought I'd mention it anyways. Isn't the list outdated? Wasn't it based around what was rare a few years ago rather than now? Like I said, I don't know much about the list but there are a lot of pets that became Very Rare at the same time as other pets and aren't on the list. And with newer URs and OMG so rares! being kinda low on the list it's kind of strange to me.

Both of these posts put it well. We tried to create change starting two years ago because the thread was dead and out of date, yet more widely used than ever. Here we are, again two years later, and a new set of users are complaining that it's not being done correctly. Honestly, it's your turn. Good luck. I'm going to follow my own advice and stop using the list and focus on the Rarity List.

Yes, the list is out of date, but we are trying to fix that! Though, believe it or not, the list doesn't change as much as you think. A few moves here and there, but this thread is meant to keep the list in check!

And yes!! We are trying to move the OMGSR's, but as for the VR ur's, we have no idea how rare they are, so normally they are placed somewhere on the mainlist by the community vote and trade evidence.

Oh yes, I really feel the same about the list, but I feel even stronger about helping... From what experience I have (to what little that may seem to some people), I feel I should try!
