"Theo!" Alyssa called, motioning me over to where she was kneeling. She never pronounced my name right, no matter how many times I tried to explain how to pronounce it, she called me "Theo" instead of "Thello". It's like everything I said went in one ear and out the other.
"Theo!" Alyssa called again, almost franticly. I let my thoughts trail off again... "Coming!" I exclaimed, a cocky smile glued to my face as I walked across the campus garden to reach her. The campus garden wasn't really a garden... there were no vegetables that grew there, only a pond with stepping stones and a waterfall, with some cherry blossom trees. Alyssa was kneeling next to one of the trees, strands of her midnight black hair sticking awkwardly out of her pony tail. I approached her slowly, and knelt down next to her. "What do you need?" I asked, trying to peer around her shoulder to see what she was so interested in. "Theo! Quit it! You'll startle him... or... her, I suppose." She shushed, shouldering me away.
"But- I thought you wanted me to-" I began, but Alyssa interupted me. "Yeah, I know, but just don't talk so loud. Look..." Alyssa stage whispered, lifting her hands up to reveal a single snow owlet. "Isn't it darling?" She cooed, nuzzling it affectionately. "We should raise it, you know." I chuckled at her, patting her on the back. "You know we're not allowed to keep pets in the dorms- right?" She sighed solemnly, and nodded her head yes. "Yeah- but, we can keep it a secret, you know. What harm can one little baby owl do?" She asked, running her fingers down it's soft downy white feathers. "Alyssa, what are we going to feed it? Where will it sleep?" There was a long pause. "We'll feed it skittles and butterflies, and it'll sleep in a box under my bed."
And, the desision was made. We were going to be parents.

End of Part 1
Alyssa did an exeptional job at hiding the owlet from her room mate and the janitors. She catered to it's every whim, so it never cried out durning the day or night. True to her word, Alyssa fed it Skittles, and when she had free time, went to the campus field and caught butterflies for it to eat. We She ended up naming her {she decided it was a girl in the middle of trigonometry} Selenia. She said she had eyes that sparkled like stars.
Alyssa and I met in the campus garden every day during lunch, and she would always put me up to date on how Selenia was doing. "Yeah." Alyssa said, stabbing a piece of lettuce with her fork. "Seleia is doing good, although she likes the butterflies better than the skittles." She cooed, squinting her eyes as she pondered as to why that might be. "But those butterflies are really hard to catch. I could swear they have little rockets on their bums, or something." I chuckled at her remark, and took a bite of my ham and lettuce sandwich. Alyssa ate the piece of lettuce on the fork, and jabbed her salad again, still chewing. "Anyways, I don't think anybody has any suspisions or anything, because Selenia is actually pretty quiet." She chuckled, swallowing. "Maybe next week you should take care of her." She suggested, raising her eyebrows slyly. I smiled half heartedly, and shook my head no. "Yeah, erm... you see, I can't."
Alyssa laughed loudly at me, slapping my shoulder. "You're funny, Theo." She chuckled, wiping away a fake tear. "You think you have a choice." I laughed nervously along with her, my eyebrows bunched in worry. "Heh heh, yeah... what?" Alyssa smiled warmly, taking a swig of milk. "Yeah, I'm going to visit my parents next week." I sighed, rubbing my temples. "Alyssa- listen- my roommate is a neat freak. He cleans under my bed every other day. Where will I keep Sele-" "Theo, don't worry, I'll just get rid of your room mate." "You'll what?!" "I dunno, give him a ticket to a cruise ship or something."
After a few more aruguments, it was official.
I was in charge of Selenia, much to my dismay.
