(How they met)
And suddenly she was awake. Unfortunately the first few seconds of her awareness did not hold any sort of calm. Instead she found herself lying prone in what seemed to be a pile of mud. A split second after that, she noticed the rain falling from above, hitting her head almost hard enough to hurt. Immediately she was on her feet, eyes wide with anxiety as she took it all in.
Her surroundings were dark, and she could only see a short distance in front of her and nothing else. Luckily (or not, depending on your point of view) lighting would flash intermittently lighting up the entire sky just long enough to see where she was. Judging by how the trees formed a thick canopy above she appeared to be in a rain forest. Normally one might be delighted to find something like this, but poor Emmeline had no idea how she had arrived here.
In fact, her memory was wiped entirely clean aside from her own name. So, she began to venture forward. I mean, just straight is as good a direction to go as any when you are stuck in the middle with no way to know where to go to get out. She kept this way for quite a while, hours probably. During all this time the rain never let up and her typically pristine white paws were tinged a dingy brown. She'd paused to take a rest when all of a sudden there was a rustling of sound in the area around her. Instantly she was on her feet, fur standing up on edge out of fear.
That's when a pair of bright yellow eyes appeared in the darkness. Emmeline fainted too soon to hear the greeting, "Hey there!"
