This deserves 10000000 cookie points.

Thank you so much for this. xD I was afraid nobody was reading it anymore. 8D I'm glad you like this; the fourth installment should be coming. xD I'm going to introduce some fellow spies of Chy's, lawl~

Anyway, on-topic;

Comm [m] xxx The Shadow [m]

The old man tapped his restless foot against the ground, an inner rhythm that matched the words he spoke.

"They call him the Shadow." He grinned at the young audience he faced, hungry eyes turned towards him as they gobbled up the tale he spun. "He is a man of magic and darkness, someone who hides in fairytales and folklores. It is said that he has thousand forms, but in all of those he holds eyes of molten gold; and when you see The Shadow, that is how you will know it is him." He winked, leaning back as he continued. "Many say he does not exist at all, that he is but a figment of our imagination but we know the truth, don't we?"

One child lifted his pale hand with a wide smile and pushed his shaggy dark green hair out of his face. "Mister, tell us about when he was born."

The man laughed as he took the kid and put him on his lap, balancing him on a knee. "They say that he's been alive for centuries if he's alive at all; that he's immortal. Nobody knows when he was born, or even where he comes from. But he is the greatest assassin that ever lived, and no one will best that reputation in the time we'll see."

From the corner, a long-legged man straightened. The clink of dogtags rustled against his chest as he frowned and folded his arms, glaring at the older man. "Stop telling stories, Da. We all know 'The Shadow' doesn't exist. It's just a child's tale."

But when he turned away his father leaned in with an eager grin and muttered just loud enough for his son to hear, "Poor Comm has never understood, has he kids?"

They all giggled and Comm frowned, but rather then complaining he picked a route to the back door. His footsteps were silent as he carried the trash out, lifting the dumpster lid and pouring the can in. As he worked he hummed to himself to fill in the silence the created; and abruptly, suddenly, the pressure of a hand on his shoulder drew from him a yelp.

"Shhh." A few locks of fine black hair brushed his shoulder when the other leaned forward, and the flicker of white teeth appeared beside him. "I owe you no harm."

Twisting to glare at him, Comm jerked out of his grasp and dropped the can, letting it clatter to the ground. "You don't sneak up on people in this neighborhood." He growled, hefting the trashcan back up and turning away. "If you need a meal, go to the front door."

He didn't even blink but he swore the man moved like light. He stood in front of him on the back doorstep, leaning against the door frame, his grin wide and sultry. "I can't go inside, kid. I find that showing up in public has a certain... disadvantage."

Opening his mouth to tell him off, Comm abruptly stopped. "It is said that he has thousand forms, but in all of those he holds eyes of molten gold; and when you see The Shadow, that is how you will know it is him."

The man's gold eyes twinkled as his grin widened. "Something wrong, kid?"

Comm gaped at him. "You have gold eyes. Gold eyes." He stepped back. "Holy-"

The Shadow's gloved hand closed over his mouth and he chuckled; even in the darkness the gold shimmer of his eyes made them seem like they were smoldering. "Now that you've recognized me," he drawled, nonchalant and casual. "Will you fetch me some food?"

Please write a book. Several books if you have to, just make it so I can sit back in my pj's and read these stories over and over again. D:

Thank you so much for all of the comments, everyone! <3
I write a lot faster when I know people are reading, so I promise the next part of the Epilogue will be up soon. It's {supposed to be} only two parts long, so this will be the ending~ Whenever I get around to it, at least. :3

...Oh, by the way, Synch has a theme song. I just found it, decided it fit with hir/his story, and thought maybe you'd like to know?
It's ["White Shadows"] by Coldplay, and it's very pretty! Go take a listen, if you'd like.

@Brev: Fff, I feel bad that I've never commented on that particular pair. |D" Taci and Chy seem so... Human, so realistic in their personalities, and I think they're some of my favorite characters of yours. Of course, I love the way you mold specific personalities and characteristics with all of your characters {which is a feat that I, personally, find very hard to do when working with a lot of them}, but these two seem so life-like that I can't help but love them. :D
Their story and interactions with one-another are all kinds of adorable, and I really can't wait for the fourth chapter!
{And I second the book idea- if I don't see something written by you on a top selling list, sometime in the somewhat-distant-future, I might cry. ;w;}

The Shadow sounds sexy. I love this pair, too. <3 The idea is so very creative, and like the aforementioned pair of Taci and Chy, their interactions are wonderful. :3

@iBrevity: Of course <3 Lovely last pairing, by the way. To say your work is amazing would simply be the greatest understatement of the century. It's much more then that but the world only has so many describing adjectives :lol:

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Colleen {{F}} ~ Madeleine {{F}} ~ Halo {{F}}
ImageImageImage
Colleen ~ The eldest sister. The girlie girl. The popular, preppy princess who loves pink. Snobby? Yes. Snooty? Yes. Full of herself? Yes. But also the hidden motherly type who would claw out anyone's eyes for making fun of her sisters.
Madeleine ~ The middle sister. The perfect student with perfect grades who on the outside looks perfectly boring. But when poked in the right spots, a fun-loving girl who wants to be seen for her personality, not her scholarly image.
Halo ~ The little sister. The adorable, impossibly petite girl with a devilish grin who's always up to something. Sugar on the outside, but a tiger within. Stubborn, sneaky and spoiled, but with that sweet smile, you just can't say no to her.
You guys don't know how much these mean to me. <3
I'm startled you seem to like this couple so much, as I worked very little on them; their attitudes and stories came to me without any thought at all, so to me it seemed disjointed and weird. xD I'm glad you like the two though. <3
As for the book writing, maybe when I actually have a job and I can write when I'm not working. xD Until then, only short stories from me. <3 Although a book of short stories would be pretty cool. 8D
Selcouth, I'm glad you think the Shadow sounds sexy. xD I was hoping I could portray him as that. 8D
Aquamarine, thank you for that completely undeserved compliment. xD I'm glad you liked it that much. <3 I love the pastel colorations of those boys together though. c:
Again, thank you for all the comments. :3 It's the readers that always make it worth writing for me. <3333
    I know my stories are usually boring, but I really like this one. <3
    Pet's name: Tyler ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pet's name: Maria
    The two tri-tailed dogs met on the streets late one night. One had always been a stray; his fur was ruffled in unusual places, and he had a few bald spots and scratches, but nothing too out-of-the-ordinary. Except for his three tails, that is. He introduced himself as Tyler. Tyler told his tale of being a stray, and living in a nomadic lifestyle. After listening for a while, the other dog -- Maria, she introduced herself -- told Tyler that she was recently owned by somebody. It was a life of pampering and riches; but Maria wasn't that kind of dog, she told.
    The two only became better friends from there, growing very close and affectionate for one another. They spent every waking hour with each other, and traveled a great deal; but Maria never wanted to go too far from home.
    One evening, just as the sun had set, Maria woke from her sleep. Her stomach growled and her mouth was dry, so she slowly arose from next to her partner. She sauntered over to a nearby river and took a long drink, licked her chops, and went a bit further past the river for some berries to eat. When Maria returned to Tyler, she gasped with horror. Tyler was being stuffed into the back of a truck. The door slammed shut, and the vehicle's engine roared as it took off down the street. Maria chased the truck for as long as she could, which was just enough to see where the truck was bringing her friend; her mate.
    The dog pound.
    Maria vigorously searched for a way in, but could not find one. She wept outside of the building, not caring if she were to get caught herself. There was nothing she could do. Her love was lost to the human race, who would kill him if he was not adopted.
    ~~~

    Each day for a week, Maria tried to find ways to slip into the building. But she could not. There was no way for her to get in. She tried sneaking in after the humans, but the doors always shut before she could squeeze in. She tried opening the doors herself, but the were meant to be pulled, not pushed. She tried everything. But on the seventh day of her attempts, hope was returned to her. Maria dragged her feet down the road, upset and confused, when a dog in somebody's yard asked what was the matter. Maria told her story to the dachshund.
    "Wait, you don't mean...?" the dog asked, describing Tyler exactly.
    "Yes, that's him!" Maria barked excitedly.
    "Yeah, I saw him walking down this here street a few days ago. He had an owner, though. But miss,--"
    "Do you've any idea where he lives?"
    "Well, he did live a block down in a little green house. But you should know--"
    "Thank you so much!" Maria yelped, running down the road.

    She panted happily, her tongue lolling out of her mouth. Finally, she and her Tyler would be reunited! Maria galloped at full speed, as eager as she'd ever been in her life. She crossed the street, stepping onto the block where Tyler was.. so close! Maria looked to her side for a small green house, where hopefully he would be.. waiting..

    Maria slowed to a walk with disappointment as she looked down the street, seeing no little, green house. She had so many emotions going on in her body. Anger, sorrow... why had the dog lied to her?! How cruel could this world be? She closed her eyes tightly, holding back tears of anger, but quickly opened them back up, when something caught her eye. She ran up the road and looked at the last piece of land on the block, and began to sob loudly. There, before her, stood the charred, crumbled, burnt remains of a small, green house.

Aqua [m] & War of the Worlds (Flora, in this case) {f}

"Why would you even think of wondering around outside?" A little blue cat with yellow eyes yowled while gazing out the window at another cat.
"Aqua, not everyone wants to be cooped up inside all day." Another cat purred as she licked her paw while sitting beside him. "...Or be watched and swooned over instead of just being approached, like a say, normal cat, would do." She continued, giving him a glare.
"She is marvelous, isn't she, Button?" Aqua said with a sigh. He then took in what she was saying, and turned to her with a sour look on his face. "But never enough to go outside for!" He added with a hiss.
"Well I'm going outside to go say 'hi' for you, then." Button said, heading towards a cat door that was located at the other side of the room.
Aqua, again, didn't let this sink in until he noticed her outside, approaching the fluffy calico cat he had been watching. He gasped [In whatever way a cat would :P].
"Wait!" He yowled, running after her and out the door.
As soon as he was fully out the door he stopped. He felt the fresh outdoor air in his fur and it bothered him. He knew of all the contaminates in it, and he didn't like the thought of that on his fur. He quickly gave his sides and chest a few licks, and slowly wandered out to find Button.
He quickly found her, out in a patch of grasses and tall flowers where there were some butterflies. The calico was listening to her say something, and Aqua felt unease that he couldn't tell what either of them were saying.
Button looked and saw him, in which made her let out a purr.
He kneaded the ground as she came over and rubbed his shoulder as she walked by.
"Your turn." Aqua felt his face contort into a very worried-looking form, as he felt like he was paralyzed.
"And don't forget to take that distressed look off of your face!" Button yowled as she scurried through the cat door.

"Hi!" The calico was talking to him.
"Do you want to catch some butterflies with me?" He felt his face twist more, into an even more distressed looking face. Probably the one he'd make only if he was about to be slaughtered, and now.
"My name's Flora. Do you want to-" She started heading towards him. Aqua suddenly felt his feet, and his body felt very light, and with that, he ran as fast as he ever had towards the cat door and inside the house, while Flora watched him run.

--------------

A small, pink cat with hearts all over her fur who had been in a flowerbush at the end of the garden walked up to Flora.
"What did he say?" She asked, almost excitedly.
Flora turned and stuck her tongue out a bit at her. "You should've talked to him while you could, Valentine."
Valentine looked at her paws, which she was shuffling on the ground. "Well, what if he doesn't like me, too?"
Flora grinned and went back to catching butterflies, but quickly let out a meow. "So? Maybe he'll warm up to you."

@iBrevity: I just read all three parts of Taci and Chy's story. <333 I really don't have any other way than hearts to describe how much I like it. xD

@Kitteh: Is he dead? D8 Or is there going to be more? Either way, I really like it. <3

I watched her go. Fiammeta, my vigilante, my arsonist. My love.

Damien [m] | Madeleine [f]

Her hand pushed back a lock of ebony hair as her feet tapped the tiles rhythmically, in anticipation.

She was a girl of few words; most people teased her about it at first, but her nonchalance pushed back the bullies until they bothered her no more. Madeleine was calm enough to not care what they said; their words bounced off and she was left unharmed, untouched. Her mother, before her death, had always told her to be herself. She had always kept the promise and had no intentions of breaking it. Her mother was one of those few, distant memories that she would never forgot; instead, they clawed at her head in the depths of the darkness that found it's way over her only too many times. She didn't like to be seen, so instead, she found her life in sorrow and those wishes that she found never came true. She knew she wasn't good enough for the village: even though she was beautiful, she wasn't tough enough to hold back the pains of the war and the menacing threats of famine. And so, growing up, she had no one to work for and nothing to do, except stare out her window and watch the steady trickle of frost sweep her windows until they were coated with mountains of fresh white. Sometimes, even, she would dance around her house with the brush of her broomstick until the dust flew away from the parched, wooden tiles.

He had laughing green eyes; he wore a collar that signified he was lower than the rest. He seemed to drag himself into the village, holding his chest as though he was about to fall and collapse onto the dusty roads of neighborhood, his eyes cast down and his breath heavy with the whippings of the wind. His young face was caressed with weariness, and he seemed invisible to the others, nothing more than beggar with nowhere to go. Leaning out of her frosty window, however, Madeleine saw him. Her eyes were keen enough to spot those tiny details and she felt as though she could understand his sorrow. As he walked by, she opened her door. "Wait!" She called out, and the one man straightened. He turned to her, and for a moment she thought she saw something more than a poor man's gaze, but it dissolved quickly. "Come in," She murmured to him quietly, and he stepped into her house without a moment's worth of hesitation. The snow powdered her pristine wooden floors with his flakes as it shook itself off of the man's boots and spread around the floor.

She stared at him for a while, then turned away. His steady gaze made her blush as she said, "Why did you come?"

His gaze reached for her, and his words were soft as he spoke, "You've got pretty eyes, don't be afraid to show them."

A slow smile crept onto her face, but she still wouldn't look at him. Madeleine slowly turned to him, repeating, "Why did you come? Who are you?" Her eyes were keen on the fact that he was not the beggar he had pretended to be so well. Looking at him, he was so different. So much taller. His eyes were still laughing, and his smile still wide. But there was still the same, unmistakable scarred emotion to his expression, still that pain on his face.

"I'm an enemy. A soldier. From another country. You shouldn't trust me. I might be dangerous. I came here to escape the fate of a traitor, for having helped one of your kind."

She didn't care. "Your name, sire?"

He grinned. "Damien."

Apaufice & Varya

For some reason, pretty much all of my pairings clash together now. O_o

Anyway, random story bit-ish thing...

An excited crowd had gathered around a small wagon, situated in the middle of a dusty, winding road. Two burly officers stood vigil on either side, fending off the bloodthirsty madmen that the townsfolk had become. Reaching in, they dragged out the prisoner, holding his arms fast to his side. The officers were well-trained, binding the man to the wagon wheels in less than 10 minutes.
On the other side of the road, the Sheriff stood waiting, expression unreadable. He served as both sheriff and judge, condemning those who had committed misdeeds to punishments assigned for each one. The epitome of justice, the emblem of protection. And a brutal one at that.
"Any last words?" he asked gruffly, daring the prisoner to beg for his freedom.
To everyone's surprise, he began to sing.
Beautiful, soaring notes, unearthly in their grace, filled the area. The crowd fell silent, mesmerized by the sight of the man, covered in three years' worth of dirt, caked in the rotten remains of the food thrown at him by the townsfolk and streaked with blood. A thin ray of sunlight landed on him, giving him a luminescent aura as the divine music continued to pour out of him.
Another voice, rich and sweet, like the feel of honey on your tongue, joined him from the gathering. The townsfolk stepped aside to reveal a young woman, blue eyes unseeing, stumble forward towards the convict. It was clear by the way she staggered, and by her hands supporting her protruding belly, that she was heavily pregnant. Collapsing by the side of the wagon, the woman continued defiantly, fixing every member in the crowd with her clouded gaze, and somehow, even though they knew she could not see, a shudder passed over them, as if her eyes bored into their souls and unearthed their darkest secrets, secrets they'd been trying to hide for their entire lives.
The music stopped. At a sign from the sheriff, the wagon began to move, jerking forward over the uneven road, dragging the helpless man behind him. The woman, still on the ground, cried out, but the horses paid her no heed, clattering along down the path, a dust cloud rising in it's wake.
Staggering up, the woman turned to the still-silent crowd, throwing up her arms. Everyone stepped aside, knowing she was about to curse; the curses of those who lost a loved one were notoriously effective. She ignored the villagers, turning instead to the sheriff and officers.
"I curse you with plague and famine," she shrieked, a desperate plea to the sky. "I curse you with death, with animosity, with exile. I curse you with the death of all your children, the death of your wives, and the inability to remarry. I curse you with the same fate as those you have sent to the grave." Scooping up a handful of mud, she flung it in their direction. It fell a few centimeters short, but the impact allowed it to splatter onto the robes of the sheriff, as well as the uniforms of the officers. She turned around and ran, seemingly not knowing where she was going, leaving behind a deathly silence as the three men, along with the rest of the town, returned to their homes and their everyday lives.

Lots of run-on sentences there.... O_o The idea was taken from the prologue to Ken Follett (spelling?)'s Pillars of the Earth.
