What was your first Rare?

Hey, c'mon now...bear with me! This posting isn't about how to "get" a rare. This is about that FIRST rare or very rare you got that either made you squeal, cry, laugh or whatever. True, Tess has said something in the past about how to get a rare and the odds of getting one, but what about YOU getting your very first one? What did you do? What did you name it? Do you guard it with your very LIFE? Does it smile at you every time you go to see it? Is it part of your siggy? These and more questions can be answered by only the one who got their very first rare...YOU! If you happen to have gotten 2 rares when you adopted the limit, let us know! The more the merrier and feel free to even post those rares you happen to adopt through the Pound. Those are the luckiest of all pets ever.

Sable was on of my first rares. (I don't have the actual dog anymore... I think it was used in a swap or something)

I had been going through pet IDs one by one to find people who had two of this dog so that I could trade for one. It took a month to do (This was in Oct 08!), just finding one attached to an account, sending out trades, one July for a set of Octobers and whatever else I had with a carefully constructed, polite message. This was my dream dog. I would do anything to get that beautiful white dog.

I got many 'nos' before someone accepted, saying they liked the coloring of the new dogs better. I was ecstatic.


Paradise here is one of the very first dogs given by the pound- back then nothing but a post saying "Come get pets!" I spent waaayyy too many hours on CS, waiting for the pound to open. I think I got the best animal twice from those days.

As for the first rare I got after limits were introduced and I started actually collecting multiples (I really wish I had when I first started...oh well)...
It's a tie between these three:

I think my first rare ever must be Wonder, though he wasn't even uncommon when I adopted him [there were no rarities back then, but he seemed to be a common outcome].Dunno why I named him Wonder, I think it was because I didn't know how he would look like, since there was only that black-and-white pup with the ?-blanket.I remember giving one of my 2nd gens the name Surprise.

I already had interesting offers for that special pet, offers that I would have accepted at once - if it wouldn't have been him.You could probably send me a trade for him with a sun jewellery and a dogtag moon on your side.I wouldn't accept.

Hm, and after the limit was introduced ... I think Jack is the first pet I got with the knowledge of it being a rare.
I still know how often I just looked at that pet when he was a newborn, hoping he would not grow that day, and he didn't ^-^
