I would say this is fair, because you are offering uncommons for a very rare, and an old very rare at that. You might want to get a second opinion, but those are my thoughts ^^

Is this fair? I am not good with Quantity, I think it's 14 '09s for a grinner, but I am not sure how the math works out.

What needs to be added to which side of the trade to make it fair?
(The rat is higher on the september list than the BMD, but rats don't have good demand, so...?)

Rarity wise the rat is overpay, but demand wise they'd probably need to add something with pretty good demand for the BMD owner to accept (like a 7th tier, purple malk horse, patchwork, etc.)

It's unfair to them by quite a bit unless I missed a main list pet somewhere, a sorbet is worth over 400 '09 rares

I don't think so, because yours is a list and they are only offering rares for it. Probably get them to add, or just cancel the trade.
