Vampiric
"It will be similar in one or two ways to the space cadet (and no its not the design or theme)"

Writing on the shoulder
Robot is similar to the Space suit, and is still different design and theme.

"The pup has a different colour for the snout then the rest of the head"

Reynir is Old norse - Rowan
Flower on the Shoulder could be the Rowan Tree
Reynir is also a football team, their Uniform is blue
Snout/nose is Orange, Face is blue

"Reynir at least will definitely lose something between stages"

May lose the Flower design

"My pup has a specific feature in common with another CS pet I made"

May not be evident till growth

Could it be as obvious as the butterfly that it has in common?
Perhaps the lighter colour around the eye?

Could also be the feather, the first pet has them under the ear.
Could get wings like the first pets Adult form - Similar design on its back to the adults wings
I'd call a feather an animal item that a dog doesn't normally have on it.
Opal can be white with colours through them: Example

That is a lot of incredible speculation! I admire the research you put into Atwood's supposed pup, and I agree with you there; I reckon Atwood's is said pup, and until they deny it, I won't believe anything else xD I also believe that "Opal", Pluma's pup, is the one with the feather on its nose

There was a Selkie last year as well, it was made by Lillian Nightshade. ^^
