The last Thing Capin remembered were many many angels, pushing him closer and closer to heaven's edge.
"Monster", they were calling, "outcast!", they were calling.
So this should be the reward for saving his love's life? Being betrayed by her, so nobody would know that she was the one who nearly destroyed everything? Capin sighed. But how could he have told them the truth? He just hoped that she would make it better now. He hoped she would wait for him.
He knew it was stupid- Holding on to someone who didn't just not love him, but betrayed him. it was stupid to hope she would see him one day. Or even like him. And it was stupid to believe that he would ever see her again. He was bound to the ground now, never returning to heaven. his magnificent wings would never fly again.
A dusty tear ran down his petrified cheek, as he suddenly heared a Sound right above him.
A small bird was starting to build its' nest between the bones of his wings.
Capin smiled peacefully.
Maybe his downfall would be the rise of something new. Something beautiful and happy.
"Biuld your nest, Little bird.", he whispered. "Go collect more twigs. I will still be here when you return. I will protect you and your unborns.
And maybe, one day, when the first egg hatches, and my wings are still protecting you, you will remember me and call your newborn as I am called. So the Little Capin will sing in my place, will laugh in my place, will fly in my place."
he closed his eyes. "And will finally free me from my dark prison."
