It doesn't matter what Shima longtails are "going for." That is not an accurate measure of any demand for the pet, it's only what a few foolish people are paying and what many more people are demanding as payment.
The three 2nd gen dogs on the top side are all extended release pets that were available until late 2009, so they are only worth a late 2009 rare each. I don't know what you're saying, actually, as you seem to have the sides mixed up and I can't tell who you're saying it's unfair to.
The user did not specify if they wanted rarity or demand or both - either way it was still unfair to the shima side
