I'd say yes due to the chicken dollars, but another '09 rare or two would not hurt.

The pony is from 2009, but has extremely low demand. I would be fine with that trade.

No. You can get much more for your malk dragon, I've had 4 or 5 in the past and I usually got offered something from the '08 color litter.
