I must say I'm also somewhat disappointed with this pony as well and I can't help but understand anyone else who is also.
When a pet is signaled out from the litter like this one was, you generally expect it to be, well, more impressive-- or at least more special than the rest of the litter in some way.

I'd hazard to say that the foxes are more well-liked than ponies. The foxes are newer pets, and have received a rather warm welcome from the site at large. All of the foxes from this litter are rather neat in their own way, and the PPS is absolutely precious. Several of the foxes look like good time and energy went into their markings. I'm particularly fond of the day 2, 6, and 7 growths.

The pony, in comparison to some of the foxes, seems rushed and boring. The tail is different, but besides that, there's nothing much to it. It's a random pony that was thrown into a litter of foxes that it doesn't exactly match up to. The different starting growth made the pony seem exciting and different, but its final result was.... lackluster. It left a lot to be desired.

I do like the foxes of this litter, and I have loved many other pets from this event. It is very clear that a lot of time and effort went into the pets of this event (just look at all of the deer!)

Overall, there isn't much to complain about with this event-- in fact, there's plenty more to praise rather than criticize. We received a lot of nice pets and items, and I'm sure the artists had to work their tails off to make sure that happened. I'll praise the staff to high hell on their great work during this event-- the cute polar bear PPS, the stunning winged dragon horse, the well-drawn fluffy horse and pony, the GORGEOUS snow leopards, the adorable hamsters, the MANY DEER (cannot get over how many were made), the precious winter items--

but I will not praise something that I dislike or feel was done poorly.

There were so many great pets this event, I can understand why expectations were so high for the hard-to-get red bells. I feel that this pony was meant to be a light-hearted addition to the reindeer litter so it wasn't designed to be very elaborate ( except for the cute little olive mark). It's too bad the joke fell flat for so many people here.... I for one was tickled when I saw the outcome. :)

I myself was glad it wasn't another fox as I like the foxes but I was hoping for something move exciting than then I was excited to see that it was a pony not a fox or deer as there have been so many outcome lately of these and not so much ponies. I like the design but wont be hoarding it as I have main prioritys on my hoard currently. This is coming from a person who normally doesn't like ponys

It would also have helped if the movie or story this pony was based off of was better known. I had no idea why I had a random pony in there, and still don't know who Oliver is or what the big deal is about it being so special. Compared to the rest of the litter it was sorta.. blah.

Hello!
I will do my best to aid you with your
trade on the FTT, but I do not handle high
demand trades. Best of luck!

PLEASE STOP GIVING ADVICE BASED ON EXCESSIVE/OUTLANDISH DEMAND

This is becoming a HUGE issue in causing inflated and outrageous demand, and holds very little merit. If you are getting offers that are well beyond the worth of your pet, congrats. Please stop pretending that is the normal going rate of the pet, as it really usually is not.

It's not really based on the movie/story, it's based on a pun. "All of the other reindeer, used to laugh and call him names..." Say 'all of' out loud it's sounds like 'olive'. But since the movie/story was also based around that pun, some users like thinking of the pony as that.

Here are my 2c.

I absolutely adore the Olive pony.
I have not seen the movie or read the story and I like the outcome purely on its aesthetic. The tail edit is gorgeous, its colour as an olive dun is spot on, and i love the expression.
Guys, you have to remember that the hype wasn't the artist's fault - the theories flying about about it being Ruldolph or Santa or whatever were NOT CREATED BY THE ARITST. They were created by the people on this page making a theory. It's not the artists's fault that people started expecting the theories to be what the outcome was, and were let down by their own expectations.
Your disappointment is perhaps warranted, but please don't blame the artist. Blame the community for the hype, if you must blame someone, but please be aware that the artist will (and probably has) read these posts, so please meter yourself if you don't want to make them feel bad about themselves.

Tbh I am actually kinda disappointed with Olive but that's my own fault. I was expecting something extreme with several line edits not a pony with a tail edit. But I still really like Olive. Once I got past the fact that they weren't what I was expecting I grew to really like them.

Granted a lot of hype does fall to people on the site, but the implications of a unique-- and harder to get-- primary stage were what started the hype. I've read the reasoning behind it, that they didn't want to confuse users by suddenly having a random pony appear out of bells that had all previously grown into foxes, but the end result is still rather random and underwhelming. The different bell was used to define the pony as different from the litter, but it also gave an unconscious signal to users that it was "important" and "special". I'm sure there are users that will and have enjoyed the pony, but there seems to be a significant amount of people who do not.

I've already expressed that I do like the foxes that this litter had-- all of which were done by the same artist. As I've expressed positivity for the foxes, however, I have expressed my dislike for the pony. There is nothing wrong with defining traits that you like and dislike of something. Positive comments are good for letting someone know what to continue, and negative comments allow artists to review work and consider if perhaps something could be done better the next time.

Of this litter, I feel that the markings on the pony could have been drawn better, and that it could have been presented in a less abrupt, odd manner. More detail would have made it fit the "unique" quality that the unique bell presented it with-- perhaps accessories (bells perhaps?) that pertained to Christmas could have done the same thing. So many things could have been done to make this pony truly stand out-- and not just because it was a pony thrown into a fox litter-- and I feel that those qualities were missed. Each of the foxes stand out so much more to me than the pony does (the markings of the black and white one and the stormy one are particularly nice). The artist did a good job on the foxes, and I will praise them for that even if I dislike the pony of the same litter.

This is all just my opinion, however. If you like the pony and the way it was presented onto the site, then that is your opinion. Perhaps you find it funny, perhaps you really like ponies-- perhaps you're more fond of the markings than I am. There is nothing wrong with liking something that someone else does not-- or vise versa.

Problem is that English is not everyone's first language. I'm German and I had no idea. So naturally I also just felt kind of "blah" about the Pony.

Yes it's pretty but I was expecting it to be a Rudolph Fox.

It's a pretty Pony but probably not what most people were expecting hence the disappointment. With so many different languages, it's probably not the wisest move to make pets after jokes that people won't understand unless they speak a certain one.

Just to clarify: The Pony is pretty! I just think many people wer expecting something entirely different.
