I'm horrible when it comes to C$ so I have no idea if this is fair! I think it's unfair towards me though. Is it? If it's unfair how much more chicken cash/less horses do you need to make it fair?

Unfair to them. 2009 pet is at least worth 3 2009 uncommons or anything similar.
