also if the custom is made by one of the artists, do they have to get permission to create it? :0

Yes, most people who get customs are either friends with staff (tess) or are (guest) artists.

I dunno about the second one- but I’m pretty sure. If all artists could make unlimited customs, then there’d be too many.

People might be friends irl with tess/staff, met on cs, or me on something totally random! I don’t recommend being tess’s friend (or trying to be) just for a custom, as that is a bit mean.
I don’t know about the last question. If it says “given to ___ by ___.” then it is traded to, but if it does not have that, then I think they made it themselves, or one of the other staff went on the account and directly put it in the player’s account.

The reality is that only staff members and others who have helped out immensely on the site( guest artists etc) will be given customs.
Becoming friends with staff/Tess will not get you a custom. Joining staff just to get a custom is also not recommended. They are a reward for hard work.

Yeah, those who got customs without being staff and without having made some other major contribution to CS were friends of Tess in... like... 2008, maybe early 2009, back when the site was small enough for that to be understandable. Think about if you make your own adoptables site--you'd make stuff for your friends for free and give them special privileges since you trust them, right? But that's only okay while your site is still small. When you're bigger, that's doesn't fly as well unless your friend can actually contribute to the site or... is like... idk, your mom lol and not just a friend. I'm not sure how to explain why this changes with site size.

If the items not in the item Archive then its most likely a custom.

His name is pronounced approximately as ah-zhuh-KHRAI-vm. ^^ If you want to get a bit more precise with it:

A like the "o" in hot.
Ð like the "ge" in beige.
W like "oo" in food, but since it isn't stressed here, it's actually more like the "oo" in "look".
CH like the hard "ch" in the Scottish (also German) word loch (correctly pronounced, not like a "k").
R like the German "r" sound, made at the back of the throat.
AI like the word I.
MH like the "v" in vine.
M like the "m" in man.

It means "bringer/carrier of the eternal fire" in the language I'm creating.
