It's rather ironic, really.
I was born with the pattern of a wing. Delicate and beautiful.
I even had wings to match. They were large, with deep red feathers.
I loved to fly. To soar through the air. Nothing could bother me.

Now, look at these things. Oh sure, the feathers still grow.
But they are black and twisted. My wings are shriveled.
I can't fly anymore. Land-bound.

I miss it everyday.
Honestly, I wish I had never had my wings.
Then I'd never know what wonders it held.
It's why I wear this mask.
So when I see my reflection, I don't think about how things were.

I am a monster. D:

An accident, they say. An accident of dark magic.
I don't think my life is an mistake.
There is a reason.
I've just yet to find it.

I think I may know what it is.
The other animals,
well, they aren't to fond of me.
They mostly ignore me.
It used to be worse.
I was blind then. I was unable to understand the world around me.
Mainly because no tried to help.
One of the dogs took pity, eventually.
She stitched on eyes.
Really, it shouldn't have done anything.
They were just buttons.
But then again, a stuffed creature shouldn't be alive.

So now I can see.
The others leave me mostly alone now.
Just because now I can avoid them.
But being ignored has a benefit.
I listen. I hear the storys,
the gossip, the talking.
But most of all, I hear the troubles.

Sometimes I wonder
if my stitched heart is larger than others.
Because every time I hear a problem,
I ache to fix it.
Some are to complicated, and impossible to solve.
There are others I can.
The others still don't understand
when they wake up to find some of their troubles solved.
They never suspect me.

That, I believe, must be my purpose.
To help others.
Only to never be seen or heard.

That was fun. xD At least this one was kinda happy. Sorry it's more story than dress-up, I can remove it if that breaks the rules or something.
