The circuit dog really looks like a mantis to me, the visible pauldron is the mantis' head and the one on the other side is the mantis' scythe like hand (though it probably is a wing)

He does look very fitting in the praying mantis armour and while I'm eager to see how the hand dragon will grow, I'm more interested in the emerald tree boa pup there.
