Blue.
Dragon.
PPS.
For.
One.
Raven.
Dog.

Like, no.
Please no.

*whines*
I want a chance to get a Raven Dog, too.

And the pet I was going to bid (Angel Advent) was already offered.
And it wasn't leading.
Because they weren't sure about demand, or whatever.

The same person was also auctioning the gold dragon from St. Patrick's Day.

Some "big boosters" included a Hyena Advent.
For the St.Patrick' Day Tess Dragon?
And only a booster?

What?

The disgusting thing is how people throw random autos which were never in any auction and pretend that's what people expect. -_-
Even if people rate bids fairly and don't ask for more, there will always be someone who's rude and stupid about it.

Not to mention, I've seen auctions with high demand pets ranted about because they had good bids.
And they never expected overpay. It wasn't their fault the person offered what they did. And if people are jealous and stupid because they're upset they can't beat the top bid, that's their loss.
Just your average gay, two spirit, native american person. I'm Foxe on FR.

I hate when I make an auction, and I'm always afraid I'm gonna be talked about on this thread x) I don't think I make bad auctions, in fact I try my best, but ever since I hecked up one time and then saw a rant about me on here, I've been paranoid. So now I try to base my rules and stuff off of your opinions on here. That doesn't mean I've stopped being wary, but I hope to make better auctions for you guys D: If I ask for overpay in my autos, it's not by much, and I never ask for overpay in my boosters. So if that's enough to satisfy you all, then I'm glad^^ It's never a good feeling when you see your own thread being talked poorly of.

I hate it when someone is attached to the pet their auctioning cos they almost cancel it saying none of the offers were good enough. Next to complaining you payed more, it's pretty annoying

No matter what you do, it's going to look that way.

Not all high demand auctions are bad, but the majority of them are like this:

August PPS Auction

Autos:
Over the gap Main List
Complete Store Pet collection
UR soul

(I made those up, k, leave me alone, but seriously, it's close enough.)

Then usually if you auction something similar you get thrown into the crowd. And most people deserve it, I can't even count how many times someone has auctioned a high demand pet for extreme overpay, and then ranted about not being able to get another fairly.

It's pretty disgusting, to be honest, and I wish people would stop doing it.

And the reason people get hate is because they get great bids, and rate them unfairly, say they paid more, want to see how much more they can squeeze out of someone, and it's gross. The users who do this don't deserve hate, but they do deserve to be called out and put in their place, especially the hypocritical ones. (Oh I hate demand WAH, but I'm going to auction off this Shima Longtail which I whined and cried about so someone would trade it to me fairly or gift it to me, but I'm not gonna let you have it unless you give me a high september.)

No rares, uncommons, commons, or very commons.

Er, yeah, that seems fair for a non-list pet.

Ughhhhhhhhh

Exactly. I had 100s of rants a day because of my august PPS lion auction. People also sent me hate mail.
In the end I just accepted a random bid because I was sick of it.
You.People sending the hate mail and rude rants. Stop it.

I wouldn't, ~Jester~.
I'd say auctioning my PPS lion was the worst mistake on my CS career. Who knew a virtual pet site could get you depressed?
Not only did I get hate mail, but sometimes people even mentioned me in their rant or copied the entire auction thread into their post on the trade rant thread. Often it was edited by mods, but it still hurt to see how much people hated me because I was auctioning a pet and people were paying advents and septembers for it. It's not my fault they offered that.

NOPE.
Most of them can't even respect a 'yes' or a 'no'.
I'm sorry that happened to you.

Good luck getting any of those autos for your common store items.

    On some part, I agree.
These is a line between Demand and Greed. People jump the gun on this thread, almost like social justice on Tumblr. Though I find this to be somewhat rare.
I thought about this issue for a while, after several situations I witnessed, and came up with the conclusion of not putting an auto in any future auctions I hold, and then sticking with the finish date of said auction. It would be an interesting reaction of what happens in return, especially in your auction if you choose to auction a very high-demanded pet.
Making the decision/ conclusion to this the "No Auto, Always finish on the end date and don't change anything else around from the beginning" might actually work. Of course, still put in the boosters, but do not put an auto in. I think putting an auto in is where people go wrong and then jump to an conclusion. And I, myself have actually been on both sides of the fence, the ranting side and the opposite side. If you wish to talk about it more, please PM me about it.

    With that said, the rant:
I am mostly on mobile now, I cannot read your title heading, bar the occasional '~' lines, the error boxes that appear and the number of bids that you have in an auction. I congratulate for your creativeness, but it drives those who are on mobile away from your auction.
Fancy letters are cute and all, but annoying to those who cannot see them.

I have never seen someone rant on this thread about a "random auto" which was never in any auction (aside from the obviously made up ones, like one of the ones I used, your soul.)I changed what I had originally in an attempt to not break the newest rule of this thread. YOU may not have had outrageous autos, but that doesn't mean other people don't. The August PPS auction that got cancelled today had crazy autos. Both Cerbs or 3 Red Cerbs. 2 BMDs and in parentheses they said they wanted overpay because they themselves had to pay a Red Rose. And the last auto was an above the gap Main List that didn't go against their anti-boosters, which were rats, fruits, and Nick Pets.

Also, I really don't agree with the "And if people are jealous and stupid because they're upset they can't beat the top bid, that's their own loss."

You can't call people stupid and rude because they rant about certain auctions and then say something like that, it makes you no better then those people you are pointing the finger at. Jealousy is a feeling that happens often, people can't really help it, there's no need to be rude about it and call them stupid.

What I find annoying is people saying that you have to trade what they did for a pet. Like, since they paid a list pet or whatever for something, it means you have to put one in your bid. Well, it wasn't our fault that they overpaid for a pet. That was their own decision. Too bad for them.

You want to auction your high demand August PPS/Raven/Shima? Go for it. You get really nice overpay bids but don't auto them? Entirely your right. I don't mind that.

Here's what I do mind.

When those same people turn around and complain, "Oh, I'm offering fairly for a -insert high demand pet-, but everyone cancels! People are so greedy, it's only a 2012 VR/2010 store pet/09 rare! Why do they cancel my fair trades?"

Because you know why. Because you have auctioned off one of those pets and gotten way better offers than what you were offering. Ones that you didn't even auto. If you know what you can get for those pets, why can't you respect the fact that other people aren't taking your "technically fair" offers because they know they could get way more?

Stop. Being. So. Hypocritical.

Look, there's a difference between demand, greed, and hypocrisy. Demand is what people are willing to pay. And demand does affect trading value - please, please, please for the love of God stop saying it doesn't. Please. I just can't stand people who act like the lists are 100% the law, demand doesn't exist, and they should be able to get a Raven dog for a fair tier swap and how dare people decline their fair offers. No, demand doesn't affect the actual rarity, but it sure as heck affects the value of trading that pet. If a majority of people are willing to offer large overpay for that pet because a bunch of people want it and that's the only way they can get it, then guess what, then said pet is worth more than a regular "fair" trade. If people overpay for a high demand pet that always goes for overpay then, saying "this is what I paid, I want at least this" is reasonable (in most cases; there are exceptions. Saying you paid a high September List for a Shima/August PPS and saying you want at least that is not reasonable).

Greed is knowing that you have a high-demand pet and trying to leach out every possible bit you can get out of it, or expecting offers that are insanely unreasonable. Expecting an above-gap main list pet for your August PPS is pure greed, yes. Now, not autoing an offer of a mid Advent for your August PPS Lion is not greed, it's quite reasonable in my opinion given current demand. Not autoing an offer of a Red Rose for your August PPS Lion is a little greedy, even if you say you "were not expecting those offers", because it's saying that said offer isn't huge enough overpay to be worth an auto. However, it's not the absolute worst thing in the world. It's just the message it sends - because you're implying that you're waiting for someone to offer even more. So please, be aware that when you do that, you do come off as a little greedy, and don't be surprised if people rant about it.

But the last one - the thing that I just really cannot stand - is when people are demand hypocrites. People who complain about not being able to get a very high demand pet for a fair trade, but then when they get a high-demand pet they auction it off and ask for ridiculous overpay. Just, please, don't do this. Don't complain that you can't get a Shima Longtail for a fair trade, then when you do get one, expect high Septembers for it. If you're entitled to the "demand price" of a pet, then don't complain that others expect the "demand price" as well. (That said, I personally think that paying a September List for a Shima is ridiculous, since it's not even a very rare.)

I get called greedy for believing that demand matters. But you will never once see me post on the Trade Rant Thread complaining about how I can't get a Raven/Shima/August PPS for a fair trade. Because I will overpay substantially for those pets. You won't see me complaining about how I can't get a perfectly fair trade down for something like my low demand Cake dog. Because I expect lower prices for them because not very many people want them. I mean doesn't that just make sense? Go ahead, call me greedy, but know that I'm not a hypocrite. I didn't get all my list pets by whining about demand and then auctioning off the high demand pets I get for every bit of ridiculous overpay possible.

Well that ended up quite long but I think that's all I wanted to say? I just really wish people would learn the difference between demand and greed, and also that people would stop being hypocrites. K.
