Yup! Been there. Trade/give someone their "dream pet" only to find it traded away not even a day or two later. Really wish you could just trust people

I'm a firm believer that once a trade is done, you have no say in what happens to the pet. However, that said... the only thing I trust about people at this point is that they'll lie about something being a dream pet so they can get a hold of something valuable to trade for cheap. The "Omg it's my dreampet" song and dance gets you nowhere with me.

I don't really understand people whose dream pet changes every day. I had one dream pet. I got it. He's never leaving. There are new dogs that I like and even love.. but my dream pet is still the same one he was in 2008. WHY would I trade my dream pet? That just does not compute to me.

Well, most of my Wishlist pets are Dream Pets - once I get one, I focus on getting the next one. Though I almost never trade them once I've got them, even if I get really good offers. I think I've only done it once, with an Advent that I belated realized was smaller than the others which bothered my OCD self every time I looked at it.

It's incredibly rude for someone to trade a pet they begged for and thus got for free/cheap, but really the only thing you can do is request they not trade it. Otherwise it's out of your hands. Though in some cases the person might have just done a date-swap so it could sit in the right place in their groups. I try to avoid that out of consideration, but sometimes there's no getting around it.

I mostly apply the non trading thing to gifts.. I was given my Yellow Toxic by a very kind person, so he is not for trade. I have some pets that were given to me for Christmas, or birthdays.. they're not for trade, valuable or not.. they are valuable to me because they were gifts.

But anything else? You can say "I'd rather you didn't trade it." and I'll say "Then perhaps you want to trade with someone else." Once it's mine, I'm going to probably use it to get things I want. I expect the same with the pets I trade to other people.

But I don't ask for free pets from anywhere but the Free Pet forum. So I agree.. begging then trading is annoying, but ultimately, if you trade, you accept that risk.

Darn sometimes I wish I never new this thread exsisted.

This time an 09 September for a warrior cat. The 09 was a tiger cat and I traded an 09 June to get him so I want a warrior cat and an 09 December. Not much to ask right? Well I got their suggestion and they will only give me the warrior cat.

I just wish I could forget this thread because when I cancle a trade AND rant later I feel bad. It kills me. It does.

Someone offered me a Raven Store Dog for my Green Toxic, Cake Dog, Toxic Bunny and heeeeaps of uncommons. No message included.. Most ridiculous trade I've ever gotten.

And people who bump their auction without adding or even acknowledging the multiple bids they've recieved.

Come ON, people. I wonder sometimes how some internet goers make it through everyday life without choking on their own spit.

One user who has been here a while and I KNOW can READ my rules and whom I have informed MULTIPLE TIMES that I do not trade my items has once again sent me a trade suggestion with a bunch of my items in it... Not just that but one of my boxes of Pocky and both my white and orange pumpkins!!!

How many times do I have to tell them that they are not for trade. That ITEMS are not for trade.

Chii has a rant!!

It's not terribly bad, thankfully enough... but it still made me mad.

They offered an uncommon rat from the last month for my PeaPS...
Even though the rat is on my wishlist, I don't want it THAT bad. I was lucky (you'll never hear those words come from me again) enough to get a PeaPS from my own adopted pets. If I give it away, it will most likely be impossible for me to find another one.

I keep mine in a locked group along with my rare stained glass pps because I got terrible offers

The worst trade I ever got was their common September '10 butterfly wolf for my uncommon December '09 PPS lion. How could that possibly be seen as fair in any dimension?
So, I just wrote: "Thank you, but I'd like to keep this pet. I appreciate your offer, though." (It wasn't a lie, I appreciated the offer, just not what was in it.)

Seriously, people. LOOK AT THE DATES. an uncommon 09 is not worth an uncommon '10.
