Awww, android dog fell in love with doggie that showed him he is not alone. <3

.... a story is not totally forming in my head with these two.

K9 (m) and Ninja (f)

K9 is an android dog who approaches things from a very impersonal and logical manner. He gets tripped up by pop culture references, sarcasm, flirting, and things that sound to him like one thing when they mean another (for instance, his idea of a "date" is a fruit). He is military trained, and a high-ranking officer (thus the golden parts of his armor). He can be cold unintentionally, though he is not unkind. He puts the brain before the heart, and has little use for emotions.

Ninja is an opinionated, joyful, feminist tomboy with athletic talents and a heart-before-logic attitude. She hated K9 when she first met him, but then changed her mind when she hung around him more. K9 is her commanding officer, and she is his second-in-command. They balance each other out quite nicely, though sometimes they have arguments that tear the tent down. OK; so she's always the one yelling at him (and he's the one going stony-silent) but ask anyone; they have one of the strongest hate/love connections around.

November 5th -
She was never supposed to get this sick.

I can hear her in the other room, moaning in her sleep. Her forehead is so hot to the touch that it almost feels like its burning me. Sometimes her eyelids will flutter open in the middle of her sickness-induced nightmares and all that will be beneath is the back of her eyes.

I didn't know that this was what the potion did. The vendor told me it caused only minor discomfort. I don't know if he lied, or if Mommy just has some weird gene that screwed up the process. Either way, I don't think she's going to make it. When I can work up the courage, I come in and sit beside her and hold her hand. I used to be afraid that she was contagious. I don't care anymore.


November 11th -
Whatever this is, the seller lied. He told me it was fine. Curable. All it did was make them sweat a little. I wanted Mommy to be punished for not buying me the stuffed animal she promised for my birthday.

Now I have it to. Mommy doesn't move anymore. I'm not sure if she's dead or not.

My forehead is starting to burn. I think I'm hallucinating. I don't think I'm going to make it through this.


November 13th -
Something came into the house today.

I keep seeing it out of the corner of my eye. It's a dog like me, but it's normal. Its outline is smudged into whatever it stands in front of, and it reeks of death. I put Mommy in the backyard today and it watched me go.

I can't tell if I'm dreaming, or if I'm already dead. I don't know if the dog is real or not. I've started to talk to it.


November 16th -
I think it can hear me. I'm starting to see it more clearly too.

I'm too weak to move anymore, so I just lie on the couch where Mommy used to and talk. The stranger will sit next to my feet and watch me. It has such deep, dark eyes, Momma. I can't see the bottoms. Sometimes I think they're sucking my soul in, and I lose my nerve and look away. I think I amuse it, Mommy. I think its waiting for me to die.


November 17th -
I was right, Mommy.

It spoke to me today. I don't think it meant to. It looked apologetic.

It said I only had a few hours left. It asked me if I wanted to write in the journal again. I'm too tired to care, Mommy. It told me I should leave a note for you, when you get back, and explain where I went. It says I'll see you real soon. I've missed you, Mommy. Why aren't you here too?


Dear Mom,
Fic and I are going somewhere. He keeps telling me its a surprise. I'm writing this so you don't worry. He says I'll like where I'm going, and that pretty soon I'm bound to run into you too. I think its a party for my birthday, Mommy. Remember to bring the stuffed animal!
