While I'm not the best judge, seeing as I haven't done any trading at all the past eight months, and haven't accepted anything in slightly over that, (meaning that I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to 2012 pets) it doesn't look like you have gotten any other responses so I feel bad not chiming in.^^

I would say that the trade is slanted slightly in favor of the top user with the single VR and no others, without any emotional/personal attachments the traders may have.
However...
If the bottom (hehe, uke) really wants said VR, and doesn't really value the rares they are offering, then it is almost reasonable, but still slanted against them.
If the bottom is offering so many rares only because the top won't accept otherwise, I would consider it slanted strongly against the bottom and certainly unfair.

Seeing as the VR dog is a late 2011, I wouldn't count it equal with even the 2009 VR butterfly wolf and maybe a two or three of the rares, unless it is very near OMG and the butterfly nearer a regular rare status. Then, I'd offer the butterfly wolf and several of the older rares; not the 2008 one, but more around the 2009-mid 2010 range. If the top wouldn't accept that, I wouldn't bother, but then again, I've always been a bit harsh... xD

what you wrote was a bit confusing.. and has some wrong information.
for one their dog is a high advent [08 advent rerelease]. the butter is worth a low advent. there is a lot more to just dates when involving the advent and rares lists.
the other pets dont seem to fill the gap.
looks unfair to them. possibly fair.

Knowing that, I agree with what you say. This is where going on trade-hiatus makes me ignorant... I can't tell what's an re-release/advent/etc and what's just a regular monthly pet...
