a few minutes ago, this person made me a trade asking for 6 of my 2011 cats, so i went to add the user´s pets and found:
one spider from this month. Are you dang kidding me?
so logically i cancelled the trade.

I see too much of this. I've recently seen about 5+ auctions with Omgsc-Uncommon pets with horrid demand.
I really think CS should somehow re-teach people(Mostly new members) about demand/rarity/fairness of pets.
The way the CS economy is now a days...It's driving me nuts. >.<

What if it was a 150 pet hoard and they were actioning that off? What would your opinion on that be?

But by that are you saying that I should not be auctioning my Blue Sorbet just because the BAs have crazy enough demand that they go for Sorbets? I'm only auctioning my extra Sorbet because that's the only way I'll ever get any offers at all for it. I don't want it just sitting on my account forever, and without an auction, I get absolutely no offers for it. At least I get a few close to fair ones every now and then with an auction. I can see the problem when people auction pets with almost no value, or especially almost no value and no demand, but sometimes auctions are the only way to trade off lower demand but high value pets.

Some of us really don't have any other way of getting valuable pets. I'm not expecting any sort of fair bid for a speckled rat, but I don't have any other main list pets or september lists, and I don't like the rat. A lot of users can't pick and choose what they're trying to trade off. >_<"

I'm sorry, but i don't see why you would say the things i underlined. As if i get rare pets floating my way and just pick randomly whatever i have for trade. If your intentions are to get me riled up then nice try but that didn't work ^.^ I don't pick my fodder either, i traded my way up to what i have now, i put allot of time and money into trading.
I recently traded a light speckled rat for a balloon dog, and i traded the balloon dog for a rainbow mare. How? Simple. I had the rat, i send out close to 100 trades for it and someone accept it just for a blue balloon dog. I swapped the balloon dog with my friend since she needed blue. I looked around on the trade and auction forums, trying to find a suitable pet to trade for. I stumbled upon an auction with a woodwing and i read the user saying something about having a rainbow mare bid. I then put up an auction thread to see if i could get this anon user to bid on my pet, and sure, within 2 hours they bid their rainbow mare and i accepted. and that's how you trade smart.
Like i said above, putting up an auction for a low demand has little use. It only gets you frustrated and leaves you with many unfair bids (And an occasional fair one). I wouldn't put it the time of holding an auction for a sorbet or a speckled rat unless i had a target (Such as extreme underpay). Then maybe. But never if i wanted a fair offer, you'll be way faster sending out a bunch of trades.

That's not what I was trying to say at all. I'm using myself and my account partner as examples, but we're probably part of a fairly large group. We don't have pets to pick and choose from to auction and try to trade off; we're got a grand total of one list pet, save for one that was a gift and won't be traded. It's not like we can pull a pet with demand out of nowhere to auction.
Some of us don't have a lot of time to put into trading, and aren't here completely for pets. And many more users either don't or can't -in my case the latter- buy C$, so there goes the money aspect.
As for 'trading smartly', I ask you to take a look at our respective join dates. Technically this account has been here over a year, but I joined onto it about six months later, and my account partner who started the account never trades. Still a long time, but nothing compared to your three years. Some of us really aren't capable of trading fairly; we haven't had hours and hours to send trades and learn slowly. You say sending out trades would be faster; you're a highly experienced user(considering I've seen you help around the FFT and not be called out for giving bad advice, I'd say it's a safe assumption). If you send a trade ,chances are it won't be scamming anyone. If I did with this rat, I'd either get someone angry at me for an 'attempted scam' or scam myself worse then I possibly could in an auction. That's what happens when you get a rares list out of the blue.
And which is really worse? To quote your first post:You are wasting everybody's time, since hardly anybody will want to pay fair for it... No demand means don't auction it e.eJust to start, this was pretty rude to all of us who only have low demand pets and can't send trade for them(reasons previously mentioned).
And tell me, which is really worse? Getting a terrible trade with said low demand pet on one end because the sender doesn't know better, or seeing one more low-demand auction? I imagine most people would say the former.
In my case, I'm not hoping for fair bids, but I think holding that auction is a lot less rude then sending out potentially disastrous trades to users who actually understand rarities and all/scamming myself and my account partner badly.
And the scam trades is assuming the user even has time to send 'hundreds of trades' as you put it. Which I imagine 95% of users don't.
Auctions are much faster.
Note #2: I'm skipping over your story about the rainbowmane/ballon dog, since that's not the original subject.
Note #3:If your intentions are to get me riled up then nice try but that didn't work ^.^
I find it really rude that you put that. I was just trying to state an argument. Why would you find it necessary to say that? Even if that was the case, it would be assumed from how you worded your response if my 'attempt to rile you up' worked. What were you trying to accomplish? Make me look like I was trying to do something I wasn't? That still wouldn't change anything, so I just can't see the point, other then to bother me, and I can't imagine why you would feel the need to do that to a random user you've never spoken to before.
