Is is a nice touch, but it looks a bit messy. While the rest of the lineart is crisp and black, it doesn't fit well, being pale and slim-- it just looks white tipped and sketchy sort of.
I think what also puts me off is that the cat has its head turned quite a ways around, but the back fluff is added as if the neck's straight, not accounting for the turn. It sort of gives me the impression that the neck fluff is riding up the side of the cat's throat, rather than the back of its neck.
Nice patterns all in all, though-- love this entire litter, especially the PPS, which I still cannot get my hands on. xD
I'd have to agree with you on that. I loved the cheetah as the "child" stage, but I just can't seem to get into it as an adult. I wasn't sure what it was until you mentioned the back fluff and I realized that that's probably it. The fluff is a beautiful touch, and accurate since the king cheetah does have it in real life, but like you said, it just doesn't seem to fit with the lineart since it seems too rough and the cat's head is turned around like that but the fluff isn't. I don't know, maybe it will grow on me over time like many other pets have, but right now, I just don't really like it all that much.
The lynx/bobcat pps, on the other hand, is my favorite of the litter and I was lucky enough to find somebody who would trade one fairly.
I just love the spots and the little tufts on the ears, not to mention that I'm a sucker for the cat's "child" lineart.Minimanta wrote:For now the bobcat isn't rare. To me it's simply another high in demand uncommon and only a rare rarity under the bobcat will change that opinion XD
Seeing how many people are asking for it on the swap thread, I find it very hard to believe that it will be anything less than rare. Seems like about as many people missed it as the UR butterdog and epps pegasus, and those both turned rare immediately. If anything, it may be an uncommon at first, but I can't see it being that way for very long. Trading '09 rares for it, though, is pretty insane. XD A pintaloosa would be about fair, not a shima longtail or something like that.
People have always been overpaying for the rarest uncommons of the months. They're just taking it to the extreme these days for some reason.
A great example is the PeaPS, people overpayed like crazy (but still nothing compared to what people are paying now) and that one turned out to be an uncommon. And it was uncommon for quite a long time.
The reason why the UR butterdog and PPS valentine foal turned out to be rare is because they had a limited adoption time. I'm sure they would have been uncommons if they had been released for a full month.
So I see it as an uncommon untill else have been confirmed^^
And people were actually surprised the pintaloosa was rare, because it completely lacked demand. Yes, people were looking for it, but it wasn't in demand. So demand doesn't decide rarity.
