I wish there was a rule against deliberately baiting newbies to make offers on expensive pretty pets, yelling at them in the most mean ways imaginable and then writing in the Trade Rant Thread about it like it was the most horrible thing you ever experienced.

I miss the days people actually had real rants to make here. Now it is just a competition on who can be the meanest towards the newbies.

I just got a PM from a newbie, she's been here for a week or so. She sent me that PM, because she was AFRAID OF SENDING ME A TRADE.
She had sent a trade to someone, been polite and explained in her message that she was new and didn't really know the rarities and that she'd be okay with giving more for the pet (an uncommon 09 mind you).
The person had canceled the trade, telling her to sod off and learn rarities instead of sending people stupid trades.

There are a lot of people on this site who send bad trades and deserve to get smacked around for it, but not everyone does. Someone actually might take it personally.

I absolutely agree with you. It's not nice towards newbies, because they really don't know how things work in here. Thinking of yourself in their place, it really wouldn't be fair if you send a trade and be polite and stuff, and you get nothing but mean words back. -_o

I tend to be very nice to newbies my usual response is:

"I'm sorry you don't have any pets I'm looking for but thanks for sending an offer." (except I never have the time for such a long response)

Some of my recent cancel messages:
"already have those pets, thanks though."
"not looking for wajas."
"nvm all my love pears sold."


I think people when sitting behind a computer forget to be nice. Do I like to see the silly offers I get for a joker? Yeah, because I used to be one of those people, and now here I am, having earned one.

I would say that putting a pet in a trade group just to see what offers you get so you can have a good laugh....well there's nothing wrong with that...

Responding in a mean way? Yeah that would be wrong. Do I know I'm asking for it by putting a really wanted pet in an open group? Yup.

it was in a trade group.
they cancelled saying: sorry for your time, I got him from the pound and he's not for trade.
then why is he in a trade group? O.o

That's a bit... errm, odd.
I don't like when people do that. :/ Perhaps it was a mistake? I've had people that diliberately put pets in their trade groups and said that they were not for trade, though.

I kinda had a same thing happen earlier. I found a post the trades section saying that all the pets were up for trade no matter what the group names were. So i sent a fair trade for uncommon '08 moon dog. I sent them a couple of uncommons on their wishlist expecting an edit. They cancel with 'not that one' Why did you say all were for trade if you're going to change your mind? If you dont want to trade pets, put them in a locked group.

And I agree on not baiting noobs. I only started in Feb, and I've had some rude encounters with people. I'll send a trade for a common or uncommon with a message, What do you want for this? or I'll pm them and get no response or get flamed.
Its very rude. I'm polite when I trade, unless I have a true n00b who won't leave me alone.

Same here. In truth, I do not enjoy being mean to a new player. However, if I am nice to them and explain things such as rarities to them, and they continue to send n00bish offers, I do get a bit mad.
