Haruka giggled in her room, her footsteps loud and even. She was making a Valentines gift for her love, Skull, well, when you say love, he was only a silly crush. But the way his blonde hair bounced as he walked, his funny attitude, it was breath taking. To be honest, she didn't know much about him. She had only heard his name from a friend, but every time she saw him, her heart skipped a beat. He really was perfection. She had bought him chocolates, and of course, she was making a card. It wasn't a card, more like a note that she would tuck in with the delicious gifts. For once, she was happy, as she was usually quiet and a sort of loner in school. Haruka stared at her note, thinking of a starting word, or sentance. She had written one word, Hi. Nothing else. She was still nervous though, what would he think if she was too cheesy? She still lingered on her words, yet nothing popped into her head. Suddenly, there was a knock on her door. Before her parents could open it, she ran down the stairs, pulling the door open. Her eyes widened. Skull.
"Who is it dear?" He mother called, rather curious.
"No one mum." She replied, not letting her pupils leave the handsome stranger in front of her.
"Hey, Haruka right? Can I talk to you?" He asked, staring around himself. Did he not want to be seen with her? Regardless, she stepped quickly out, goosbumps all over.
"What is it?"
"I see you stare at me in class. What's up?" He asked again, making her quiver in excitement.
"I-I think, your good looking is all..." She blurted out, practically admitting she was making her valentines for him by the note in her hand.
"Are you serious? I'm sorry, I have a girlfriend, and I don't even know you! I, would never love you!" He spoke with bitter words, staring down at her, his eyes guilty but rather angry. Why was he angry? Did he hate to be admired? Haruka stepped back, feeling as if her heart was lost.
"I wouldn't accept a Valentine from you." He snorted, talking down at her, yet he briefly eyed her note. He shook his head, and shut the door behind him. Haruka was shocked. His words were so bitter, like an arrow through her chest. What if he told people? What if she was bullied even more? She teared up, dropping to the floor in her silent weeping. Tears dripped down her cheeks, and she pulled her pencil from her pocket, looking at the note. She scribbled something, before crumpling it up and discarding it on the floor, then running to her room, tears streaming down her cheeks. The note lay still, before uncurling from it's crumpled state. At closer inspection, the words were still readable. The note read:
"Hello...Why...?"
Will she ever find love again? Could anyone pull her from her depressed state?
