What are the new store pets based off of?

The head shape of this dude totally reminds me of an andean cock-of-the-rock or a turaco and I'm loving it!
...But then, I eat up just about anything remotely birdy :']

That was my main inspiration for that one, indeed.

Do they all have real inspirations, or are some of them just fantasy-esque? Corvid beak on the gray one is obvious, but the rainbow is giving me himalayan monal vibes except for the beak shape.

I'm so gonna have to hold back on the hoarding instincts because frankly, two unfinished store pet hoards should be enough, pffft.
But I absolutely had to buy one of them, at least. He is fabulous and immediately getting a spot with my other equine favs.

The faces are inspired on birds(barn owl, psittacids, corvids, cock-of-the-rock), but the designs are purely abstract. The rainbow one is based on psittacids in general, though it's hard to tell in the final design due to all the shading and colors. You can see it better in this picture of the initial concept. By the way, I have a love/hate relationship with its design, sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. The color barf that is the design came to be from a joke between my friends and I... I basically was really struggling to figure out which colors to use when parrots and macaws are usually so colorful, and a friend just answered "if you can't pick a few, use them all!". I ended up doing exactly that XD.

Originally I had also sketched a PPS one based on a kiwi, but when it was time to line I just... couldn't make it look good. It always turned out either creepy or too odd, so I scrapped it.

The b wolves look interesting. I think they’re decevingly simple. Look at the gradient on the leaf.

I think without the ears it would have been perfect... maybe it can still be used in a future litter.

The Store Pets are gorgeous! I'm just curious are they on zebra lines? They're showing up in the archive as ponies and now I don't know which group to put them in. =)

Huh, yeah, that's an archiving error, those are the zebra lines^^
Should be fixed soon, though, someone already posted it on the archive error thread.
