How Do You Organize Your Pets?

I use ♦s for ordering. Right when I joined I named my miscellaneous group w00t on a whim. My groups are based on themes: my pride flags, silly, hats, and the seasons. The seasons go by aesthetic and holidays. Birthday pets go into spring because CS and my bday are during it.

I haven’t been playing for long, so I don’t have many groups but here is what they are at the moment:

- Pets without a group (for most of my pets)
- Chicken army
Chicks-in-training (for the pps chickens)
Trades

trade groups first - swaps, rares, lists, regular

then growing pets

then hoards, i only have 3 - hedgehogs because they're my favorite animal ever, pig pets in memory of technoblade (who indirectly led me to meet some of my best friends), and robot dogs because robot & virtual pets have been an interest of mine since childhood

then by species

then some misc collection groups - list pets, staff dogs, store pets

and then dresssups

I have my main groups organized like the archive. for example:

It makes it easier to track which pets i do and do not have

My trade groups are organized by species and an extra group if rare+ by species

I have a hoard group, and my nursery is sorted by species

I think I'm pretty alone in how I organize my pets, lol

I smash all the ones I don't particularly care about in a group called "Pet Collection"
Doubles and unwanted rares in trade

Then the pets I do want I keep in my favorites, sentimental, etc., and some I keep in actual collections like my deer and any China-themed pets, and 2nd-gen/3rd-gen families

I'd love to see others who also just smash all their "meh" pets in one group lol

First I have my trade groups, then the regular groups are sorted by species (which are further sorted by a generic group, a PPS group and a 2nd+ gen group), then I have events/holidays and then miscellaneous.

My system is uhhh ever evolving.

But currently I do it numbered so the more important or frequented groups in terms of trading or adoption are at the top. Example:
0. Event doubles
0. Event swaps
0. Rat King subjects (I trade frequently to grow my rat kingdom)
1. Idk events probably, or years of pet release (2008, '09, '10, - '23, etc)
2. This one might actually be events
3. Special breeds or species I particularly like
4. Probably staff pets by year
5. Uhh other important stuff but I don't add to them much bc trading is hard so they're closer to the bottom of the list (less scrolling for the groups I actually use)

And so on

May mess with it soon but atm it’s
- doubles sorted by month or event
-collections such as month, event, or specialized (ex: PPS western dragons)
-other such as growing or favorites
-species

I have a few sections.
1 my pps lions and snakes then my UR bee
2 Then all the events that happen every year like Easter or Christmas with every Easter pet ever released that I one in the Easter group (except pps lions and snakes) it keep the theme nice and consistent
3 all the summer events from 2012 and up
4 a few extra groups for special groups of pets. Like staff or store or a few sets of pets I really really like. like the dragon store pets with the pps dragoncat or the cheetah store pets.
5 then all the years. 2010-2023
And then the new year dogs/cats plus a bid trading group.
I hate too many groups. And I also hate to split up themes so this works for me I have about 30 groups? Maybe a bit more. And it feels like a lot. But this is the only balance between having favourite groups, not splitting stuff and not having too many

My system is pretty interesting! I made groups based on aesthetics and how much I love the pets, so I have groups for...

And so on! I could go on awhile, but they're based on aesthetic and things I love from real life, usually fantasy, shows, characters, kawaii, or fairy based!
