I've been working on my Italian everyday for about an hour or so on this app called Duolingo on my phone, and I'm hoping by the time a few months roll around I'll be able to make long sentences like this one in Italian xD
I'm also taking an Italian course next semester so that'll definitely help me too.

I actually have a question with grammar: I know that 'nel' and 'nello' both are used for masculine, but when is the proper time to use them? I was asking my boyfriend (who is from Italy) and he actually didn't know because it's usually just implied xD
Anyone have an answer...?

Solo quando si tratta di una figura maschile, come un fratello, padre, o che un maschio. Inoltre, alcuni elementi sono classificati come maschio. Spero che questo aiuta!

NEL is made of the word IN + the article IL.
NELLO is made of the word IN + the article LO.
So, you need to know when articles IL and LO are used.

IL (and so, NEL too) is used before consonants (for example, IL CANE, NEL BICCHIERE), with these exceptions (so you need to use LO/NELLO):
-words beginning with "Z" (for example, LO ZUCCHERO, NELLO ZAINO);
-words beginning with "S+consonant" (for example, LO STUDENTE, NELLO SPAZIO);
-words beginning with "PS" or "GN" (for example, LO PSICOLOGO, LO GNOMO, NELLO GNOCCO).
