Famous Italian Man? Need Help With Identification

I was on a flight from Bari, Italy to Rome this past Sunday 8 July and everyone was fussing over this guy in the picture with the graying hair next to the woman in the black dress. Does anyone who they are?

My traveling companion did on his phone because I didn't want to look as obvious using my camera even though everyone else was taking pictures. I don't know if faces need blurring due to the fact that this was taken publicly in Rome's international airport so there is no expectation of privacy.

I think now that this might be a picture of Roberto Mancini. Can anyone confirm?
