Hello, I hope you don't mind me intruding on this thread ;;-;;

I am nowhere capable of speaking or reading chinese, but I need help from someone who is.

This school year I became friends with a girl who was a foreign exchange student from china, sadly her stay was only for one semester so when christmas rolled around it was time for her to go back to beijing.

Before she left, she had everyone in our group blindly pick cards that had a handwritten message on the back of them. She said she couldn't tell us what it meant, that we had to find out some other way.

Google translate's photo scan option isn't working, so I figured I'd try to ask someone here because I really want to know what it says since this card is the only thing I have to remember her by (other than my memories).

i used a dictionary for a lot of the words that came to mind, but had no idea what the characters were 🤣

!!大家好!! 我来自新加坡，很高兴看到这么多人正在学/想学中文!! 中文其实是我的第二语言，虽然是从小学的，它却比我的英文差很多，所以小时候我非常讨厌中文，最近几年才开始为我的中文能力感到骄傲!!
reading through all these posts, i'm really happy to see that so many people are learning chinese (yes i know it's mandarin but most of us still call it chinese)!! chinese is actually my second language and i've been learning it since young (i think it's compulsory to learn 2 languages in most schools here in singapore, we also have languages like malay and tamil as well, and it's optional to take a third language from secondary school onwards (i took french and dropped it after 2 years when the workload increased)) and so i'm not that good at it especially in comparison to my english (you'll notice that the english chunk is much longer and flows slightly better here that the chinese one), but i'm fluent enough to hold conversations and read texts in chinese comfortably. as a kid many of us in school, myself included, hated chinese because it seemed so much harder and more uncool than english (of course some preferred chinese, it was largely affected by which language you spoke with your family most of the time) but i'm now proud of my abilities to converse in chinese and it's heartening to see that so many people want to take up chinese!!

I've been learning Chinese for a while now. I'm getting pretty good at understanding it when someone is speaking to me, as long as they talk slowly, and I'm getting there with being able to speak it myself. But reading is still something I'm struggling with >.<
