I'm still pretty new to the site and I'm curious about some things! The guides and FAQs seem to have information about everything except these kinds of queries- basically I'm wondering about some of the workings/mechanisms of the site. I'm not wanting like zomg trade secrets or anything, just a basic idea of what's happening.

1. Is the amount of time it takes for a given pet to mature through its stages randomly determined? I have pets who still haven't gotten past newborn while ones I got after them are in the next stage already.

2. Are rarities assigned, or is it more that people adopt a number of pets in a category, with outcomes of type selected via RNG, and then at the end of the month when those litters aren't adoptable anymore the site counts up the number of each?

Hey again!
1) Nope, it's predetermined when the pet is added to the site - if you check the archives, you can see for example that the outcomes of this egg: grow to their middle stages at ages 1, 3, 5 and 9 for the PPS, and then to their adult stages at 14, 17 and 19. So I have this guy:

and when you click on him you can see he's 11 days old, but he's the outcome that'll grow at 19 days, so I have to wait for another 8.
Obviously at the start of a new month nobody knows how old the pets will have to be before they age, or what outcomes there will be, so in a new month it's always a surprise!

2) Yeah, the second option - which outcomes are more common to adopt is manually done (the RNG is swayed, they aren't all equal chance to adopt, but it is still RNG), but their actual rarities is determined by the site afterwards.
