I will assign you an adopter as soon as possible.
But to answer your questions in the meantime:
1. You can't breed pets together - we have 2nd gens instead, which are bred by the artists. For further information, please read
this topic by the site admin. :3
2. I've quoted a answer by myself below about how long it takes a pet to grow, if you don't mind ^^:

Although here's some observations I've made about pets growing:
Dogs:
Newborn -> Teen sometimes take 6 - 17 days to grow, and Teen -> Adult sometimes take 7 - 14 days, or sometimes more/less.
Butterflywolves:
Newborn -> Teen sometimes take 2 - 8 days to grow, and Teen -> Adult sometimes take 7 - 12, or sometimes more/less.
Horses:
Newborn -> Foal/Teen sometimes take 4 - 17 days to grow, and Foal/Teen -> Adult sometimes take 7 - 18 or sometimes more/less.
Ponies:
Newborn -> Foal/Teen sometimes take 3 - 15 days to grow, and Foal/Teen -> Adult sometimes take 8 - 16 or sometimes more/less.
Rats:
Newborn -> Adult sometimes take 14 - 29 days to grow or sometimes more/less.
Cats:
Newborn -> Kitten sometimes take 3 - 18 days to grow, and Kitten -> Adult sometimes take 6 - 18 or sometimes more/less.
Although growth rates can change depending on events like Christmas, Easter, etc.
Please note that Owls & Spiders aren't going to be released anymore because their lineart artist to retire, so I thought I wouldn't give you growth estimates on them or the 2nd gens because the 2nd gens take a really random time to grow with different species. :3
And please also note that what I'm saying isn't fact. x3
Also, if you check the specie's adopt page, like the dog adopt page, at the top it'll give you an idea of how fast dogs grow.
