We need your feedback on an update to the rarity system!

is sorting by rarity really that common? i just toss all my pets of a species in the same group unless they're for trade or part of something specific lol

I do the same thing! If I like a pet, it goes in my locked favs group. The rest I sort by species

I do like the idea you know it'll definitely be a lot better like in my whole collection I have I have more of like the basics The uncommon and the common ones but I do have a few rares and I think I have like one or two OMG rares but being able to spread it around in other categories it would help a lot more and personally I think the idea is perfect

Small suggestion for Lacuna:

Maybe y’all can edit that first reply/second post at the beginning of the thread with updated/popular discussion topics? That way they’re easy to find and if they’re up front, it may be easier to get opinions from people just joining the discussion (as opposed to a mod posting every once in awhile for updates y’all like and then discussion may only happen for a few pages before it gets lost/missed).

i like the idea of adding in more labels, but the only question i have is if this will change any of the omgsr's we already have, and if this will make them drop down to being a lower rank. we all know how hard it is and how cool it is at that to have a OMGSR but what if something we worked hard for, drops down to a vr or one of the new labels? i think it would just be confusing and i think if the cs staff found out a way and explained it in depth to everyone how the rares would change and how it would change some of the trading. because now, most of the time its 2 rares of the same year for 1 vr of said year (just base rares), but would it be 2 VRS for ERS or would these ERS become the new VRs? i just think it may be confusing to lots of people!

but on that topic, it will be a new experience for lots of older players who and it will make everyone work for something new and understand new stuff and may be a very good step for activity on CS

To clarify - the update will not effect the current omgsrs because those pets are already accounted for, if they were to change they would already with the monthly rarity updates. Any “splits” in rarities will be in lower rarities

By now I just wish we knew, when the bandaid's acutally going to get ripped off. It's entirely my own fault for coming back here to read suggestions and feedback - I kinda can't stay away from it rn, cause it's somehow important to me. ^^ But then, I'm starting to feel really anxious about things. It's like CS is usually this little cozy place on the internet, but rn now it's making me feel uncomfortable in the stomach. Maybe I should just stay away till the update is through. xD
Any chance we can get a rough estimate of the timetable?

The poll ends 21st August so nothing till then at minimum. And then this is only ideas, they have to sort final names, graphics, coding, etc. I'd rather it was sooner as opposed to later but especially with two big events coming up (Halloween, Christmas) I feel like it won't be till next year. I do know we will get plenty of warning though, it won't happen suddenly without us knowing.

Once the best option is decided, we'll announce that new system in advance, and then make that change two weeks later.

Reads to me as "once the poll is over and the graphics/coding have been adjusted, it will be implemented 2 weeks later", and I don't think the graphics and coding will take too long, at least not long enough to delay it into next year. We have a month between now and Halloween and several until Christmas, and I believe most of the work in regards to those is on the artists, so I'm not sure why those would cause an issue with this project?

Ohh, right - I think I read that before I got into the discussion. There's just so many posts, I simply forgot. Thanks for bringing it up! : )
