Aaa I saw the question and answer about uploading example images and since most of my digital work is for contests and such I went ahead and put "character design not mine" onto the images that I didn't design myself. Hope that wasn't unprofessional, wasn't sure how else to make it clear ^^;;

The CS Artist role is an unpaid position.

What are the benefits of the position then? I'm really tempted to apply but my mind keeps coming back to this, since Id get no form of payment. And last I checked you can't advertise really money commissions on CS so I'd essentially be working for exposure. And any artists knows working for exposure is a big no-no.

CS staff work just because they enjoy contributing to the community and making CS a better place, by helping to organize events, releases, and such. If you are looking for a more direct benefit then this position is probably not what you are looking for.

CS team roles should not be used for "exposure" since it breaks our site rules to reveal your personal information, even as staff members.

I probably sabotaged my chances with that comment anyway didn't I?

I'm still debating whether or not to try for a guest artist. The unique-ness of it as an experience attracts me still.


Edit: Also I want to clarify, since Ive seen a few contradicting answers; blending, opacity, and airbrush, which is okay or not and how do you tell? In the attached image I used an airbrush tool on one part, different layers and opacity on another, and just straight up blending two solid colors on a third portion. They all produce the same midtone, from the palette provided, just with different neat-ness compared to time spent.

Blending and gradients are fine.
Blending and soft brush/gradients are okay. Opacity is not.

Not my pet design just used it because I had the file open.

You should be uploading files directly from your device on the application page. There is no need for an image hosting site.
