instead of choosing between the colours, do yourself and the birds a favour and take two of them.
Then you can have one of each colour.
I used to breed parakeets and had a lot of books about bigger variations, too.
And no matter which book I was reading, they always recommended to have at least two birds, because having just one causes problems like them pulling feathers, screaming to loud, becoming depressive and so on.
And they said, too, that a human could never fill in the gap of being a real partner for one bird, because they are used to live in a swarm and a human being just can´t be around for 24 hours, like another bird can do it. The gender is less important, if you don´t plan to breed. Even birds of the same gender can live happily together.
So, if your cage is big enough, please try to get two of them, no matter what colour. It might saves you a lot of costs for the vet in future.
