If you couldn't find the vote thread, how'd you find this one? Not trying to sound rude or anything, which tends to send the wrong message sometimes. I'm just asking...."How can you not find the voting thread, but find this one, then start complaining about how you didn't get to vote, and how you hate the change?" The old lineart was breaking CS rules, they have to change it, even if the "NO!" vote won.

If you don't go to the fourms very often, that's not my problem.

You didn't read my post thoroughly, it seems.

I ONLY read my bookmarked topics. I don't go to "My Posts". I go to "View Bookmarks".

And THIS topic was posted on the FRONT PAGE. The voting thread WAS NOT. That's the only reason I became aware of this whole thing and wanted to voice my opinion of it. Especially the part where a ton of people were left out who didn't happen to go on the forums and see the announcement, when everyone could have easily seen it on the front page.

And if it's "not your problem", why are you arguing with me?

I'm simply defending my opinion/self. As you can see, I'm the type of person that's as stubborn as a Dwarf and usually doesn't back down until my point is made or the "arguement" becomes neuteral.

When I go to "View Bookmarks" it only shows the threads I have bookmarked by actually going through the fourms. They recently posted the announcement about the changes on the front page, this thread has been here longer than the front page announcement. I don't really care how you view the fourms, I'm just stating that it's easier to go to "My Posts" so you can see every thread you've posted on and see which ones have been recently replied to, yada yada.

And yes, I DID read your post, I am not stupid. Apparently there are more people who are aware of this than you realize. "Tons" of people are not left out, you're just exaggerating at this point. Did you read the front page of this thread? Even if the "NO!" vote won, the changes still have to be made due to legal issues, must I repeat myself again? The lines would be changed no matter what, if it's Yul's lines or a new line that the user's might like better.

As it is, the project did get changed a bit here and there to account for people's strong objections to putting the PPS ponies and the Rainbow-mane in the standard Yulyhn lines, but the majority either supported or didn't mind the old designs being transferred to the standard lines.

The poll was remarkably consistent the whole way through (always ~31% No, 51-54% Yes, ~12% indifferent and 2% Unsure) no matter how many new votes came in, so it seems unlikely that having more people voting would have changed it. As it was, that thread was so remarkably horrible and caused so many warnings and bannings to go out in the few days of its existence, not to mention requiring the attention of multiple mods almost 24/7, that keeping it open any longer would have been intolerable.
I think that if the players had known that the change was going to happen and that they were being asked if they would prefer the current horse line art or altered lines on the current horse line art many more would have voted for more unique lines or some line changes to keep them unique. My impression from the voting was if we wanted the changes to happen, and there were more playing that disliked the old lines than those who liked them. That said, there were still 31% that liked the different lines and are saddened that they are all going to the current lines.

The artists are doing a stunning job recreating the designs in the current lines... but... a simple line art change to the current lines might have soothed many in this transition. At the same time, there is never any way that 100% of the people can be made happy.

I agree, there's always going to be a certain percent of people who will basicly rage about the changes and never be happy, then end up forgetting it. They are virtual pets that aren't even alive, changing the lineart isn't like commiting mass murder or something. It's nothing to get all angry about and start arguing with others about how they shouldn't have made changes, and all that jazz.

But they could've at least told us the change would happen no matter what, I think that might've been better.

I think many people were confused by the poll
I personally thought the poll was asking whether one should change in to the new line art or stick to the old one
Not that it was asking whether it should move to the new line art or have alternatives line arts
I think the poll gave a wrong impression and would have had a variety of data if it was asked differently

I don't care if it changes or not. I never said I cared.

I'm angry that they didn't make what seems to be easy decision to post the poll on the front page as well, where everyone could have seen it, and no one would have been left out at all unless they just didn't come to the site. Not that it matters anyway.

You could have "defended yourself" by not starting an argument with me and "not backing down because you're stubborn".

It's not easier for me to just view every single post, because sometimes I just post one time in a thread, then my "posts" page is spammed with tons of threads I don't really care about, and if they're extremely popular they're always at the top of the list. So I bookmark the ones I frequent. Much easier, IMO.

And you two need to chill and take this lil spat to PM, please. This thread is about talks for the change; not for the banter that's going on. Please take it to PM or stick with the topic. :)

I'll be sad to see them go, but I really do hope the donkeys stay, they will lose their appeal to me once changed if not done right, as the more donkey line art , I did not like so much.
Either way, I'm happy that we're fixing the problem! ^^
