Postby Tjebb » Mon Sep 24, 2018 5:32 am

Does anyone have any tips for shading? I am not ver good at it, and I would like to get better. Thanks!

Here's something that might help!

Some things to do/remember:

1) the shadow beneath the sphere is always the darkest

2) its helpful to make an arrow or lamp to show where the light is coming from

3) follow the lines/curves of the sphere when you shade to make it look 3D

Another thing that might help is getting an egg and practicing drawing the shadows on it :D

That's actually pretty darn great! :D If you haven't tried it yet, one method that i go by is doing the shading on a whole new layer that's over top of what you want to shade, that way if you make any mistakes you can erase the shading without having to erase everything else. And for the shadows on the floor I would make a layer just for it that is under the layers for the objects, then you can add that in without accidentally coloring over the objects themselves. :)

Oof Ceruelean ninja'd me, lol! Definitely some awesome advice from her, too! <3
