I still miss her and the yard felt empty. But I think for me when my partner at the time rushed into a puppy only 2 weeks later it hurt more. I felt unattached and like I was betraying her memory. The puppy got her kennel, her bowl and almost all her possession that I didn't hide to keep sacred to me.
I got her paw print tattooed on me- my first tattoo. She meant everything, my first dog.
Her ashes are close to home in her favorite walk site so I visit regularily.
