Sadly, I am quite proud of this though. I've done a bit of smudging, but I don't think there's any more hope for this picture... -sigh-

Can I give a few more suggestions for your next piece? o:

I see what you were trying to do with the highlights, but with brown fur try to avoid using white. Now, I'm not saying don't add any highlights to it, but use more of a cream color, or something just lighter than the actual color and gradually move to lighter colors.

When coloring using lots of layers is a good thing.(Though never EVER draw on the backround layer. x: ) It may seem redundant at the time, but trust me, in the end it turns out well. Block colors in first, then add another layer to start with darker hairs. Then add another layer for lighter hairs. This way, if you mess up you can erase without erasing something you thought was good before.

The smudge tool is helpful sometimes, but keep in mind that the more you go over a spot with it, more color is taken away and it starts to get a grayish color. Blur does the same.

My main suggestion is just play around with the app. You don't have to post everything you draw, but the more you play with it, the easier it will be to figure out the tools, and the better your pictures get. ^^

Lovely! 8D The best advice I can offer would be to not use pure white to highlight. A good way to accomplish this is to use, as before stated, a lighter version of the base, or Burn and Dodge tools, set to about 3 opacity. ;)

Also, the eye is a bit "flat", give it especially some more color variety, and the eyes "are the window to the soul." Airbrushing shadows/highlights, on the eye especially, you may find useful.

Excellent work, I'm impressed with the detail put into it! ^_^ Just keep practicing, and you'll improve!

Though, not meaning to contradict you, but I highly suggest NOT using burn or dodge. x:It may be an easy way to get brighter or darker colors, but it overly saturates the colors and ends up making the picture too fake. The more time you take to pick colors and figure out what colors look good for shading, the easier it will be next time.

True. I do not draw realistic drawings enough to have anything against that.
Truth be told, I use burn and dodge all the time, such as here, here, and here, which is why I recommended it. ;)
