Lol I took it down because I've had 3 people tell me it is a JBD, Anyways the point is you can't let these things get to you.. If you are bothered by someones creature and you think they may have copied you then confront them personally, no need to put something to insult someone publicly.

Shiny pancake is right. JMD'S almost completely copied JBD'S, and alot of others did too. It's getting annoying.

I agree so much with this. I don't think it's so much the physical parts of the species as the concepts in general. It's ok if people make a species with some fuzz, or even a vaguely similar tail (although honestly I've seen enough crude copies of JBDs that it never seems accidental anymore) but just the premises of the species in general. So many of them have near-identical names, lifespans, personalities/rarities and variations of the animal (curlytail, flopear, different horns, etc) that it sometimes feels like the CS adoption centers are just huge clone factories pushing out slightly different models of JBDs.

I mean, I guess in some ways it's understandable, and I'd never hold anything permanent against somebody who made such a species. Almost every original species is based off of something- anyone remember when the adoption center was made up almost completely of canines? It's hard to make a species original in the geniune sense of the term- borderline impossible even. It means coming up with a completely new anatomy structure and behavior for the animal, and the result could very easily come out looking 'ugly' or 'weird'. However, I think people are using JBDs as far too much of a base, lately. It was OK when people did it with canines, because of course they're a natural species and are open for anyone to use. Taking a JBD and modifying a few of its traits to make something 'new' isn't just irritating, it's art theft.

True, JBDs were (and still are) an adorable, original species which quickly gained a lot of interest from the CS community. People want a popular species like JBDs, so they try to make virtually the same thing and expect virtually the same result. What people don't realize is that it wasn't the physical details of the dragons that brought them to such fame, it was the originality that got them that spot. The form of the JBD was at the time very different from everything else around on the boards, had a solid concept and managed to be absolutely adorable on top of that. They were also created by an artist who was known for being very creative and original already. If you want a popular species, don't expect for something to take off when there's an older and already more popular species sitting around that's very similar to your own. You should be original, step out of the boundaries other species have put in place and really put some imagination, creativity and effort into your work. That's how WoI, JBD, WME and most every popular species I've seen here began and rose to fame; don't copy a species, make one. C:

I have to say... the tail isnt actually 'JBD tail'... Its more a fluffy lion tail.. It doesnt really belong to JBDs on their own.

To be honest, I dont find JMDs anything like JBDs. Everyone complains that they are exactly like Jellybean Dragons and they are not. I dont even find the name similar. The thing that is similar is the abbreviation on the name. They arent shaped the same, JMDs can glow, they can fly, they dont even have the fluffy tail.

Too true
Every adoptable is at least half dragon. Complete dragons are just carbon copy, same body form and sometimes fluffy, of JBD. I'm so sick of it. >_>

The fact that most of the features of the fluffy dragon adoptables are exactly like the JBD is just not very original. I understand lion tails are not a trait that can be copyrighted, but come on.

Making a dragon species isn't illegal. Some people love dragons, and it's not their fault if they want to create one. But, copying traits directly from other artists or created species is, in fact, illegal.

And, the artist of this drawing never stated that the "JBD/Lion" tail is under copyright. She only said that it's unoriginal. Please do try to read more closely and deeply into what she means.

OMG thank you
._____. Guys please stop trying to 'call out' JMDs it's so annoying rude and really disrespectful to the creator in general x_x no need to hate on things just because they're fluffy and have a face ._. I've noticed a lot of people complaining, but seriously they are VERY different from JBDs. I can choose 5 species with my eyes closed that look like almost exact copies of JBDs, yet we're the chosen ones to be picked on.

Please just stop it. It's just getting crazy offensive >-< plus like pointed out JBDs might not be the most original thing in the world, sense it is really just an eastern tailed dragon of which became popular on CS. I like JBDs but guies calm yo' chiz >_>

Luff the drawing though char t: <3

EDIT/ Juliet you owned 4-5 JMDs until last week and made a species that was a combination of both species so you're really being hypocritical >-<

thanks everyone ^^
honestly, I don't have a problem with JMDs. They are fluffy dragons, yes, but they're much different, honestly, what with all the unique features and stuff they have :'P <3

The only thing JMDs share in common with JBDs are facial structures. Even those are slightly, though shiny magic pancake (Lol, Char) does have a point.
