Celia walked on the streets under a bright, full moon. She went trick or treating with her friends. Each and every year, they have a trick or treat contest and Celia have never won one of them. This year, she was determined to win. She wanted to win. Nothing would get in her way. If she won, she would get a choosing of five candies from each of her friends to keep. This year was her year.

"I'm gonna beat you all!" Celia laughed. Her friends laughed, knowing she wouldn't. They decided to let her have an extra house at the beginning to get a little head start. Shockingly, Celia didn't want the help, but she was forced. She selected the house with amazing halloween decorations, in which she hoped had the best treats. She walked up to the door and sighed. She looked up and knocked on the door, giving a big smile, and getting ready to hold out her bag, and...

Maddi and Libby

Halloween.
The only night where we can freely walk these streets.
Everyone is dressed up like they always are, and they don't notice me.
But they always notice Libby.
I call her my sister, but she is something very different than me.
She is something much more powerful than me.
Tonight, she comes alive.
The humans always accept her for one of them, although I see what they cannot.
To them, she is a human child, dressed in a homemade costume.
To me, I see her for what she is.
She runs door to door, shouting and full of energy as she collects her candy.
All I do is tag along. I cannot let her out of my sight.
But I feel the same thrill that is in her voice as she shouts.
The thrill of freedom.
It has been a long year for both of us.
A year of solitude, of pain, of being monsters.
It lifts my heart to see her happy again.
At the end of the night, she will come to me, her face glowing and exhausted.
She will show me her bag full of candy, and tell me how she has more than anyone else.
How could I deny her this night? Even if it is more dangerous for us this year?
How could I tell her the truth?

She finally reaches the last home. Finally.
It has been worth it, despite the danger.
I hear her shout "Trick or Treat!!!" and a trickle of dread comes over me.
Please...please...be treat. If anything happens to her...it will all be my fault.

what's a cat and a bat and a rat and a gnat
a creaky old woman sat
a mat and a pat in a vat and then splat
the creaky old woman's straw hat
'twas placed on her head
in silence and dread
her face bore such life to tell
but we know much better
this darkness of feathers
we know she'll be going to

halloween is the best night
for this is the truth:
say just three magic words
and you'll regain your youth

yes this night is so curious
and yes this night is dead
the night is always stirring
but it's all made in your head!

the trick of this night-

is the fantasy of young ones
go and grab a stick

but think very hard
who cares if you're missing school?

the stick has become your broom!
fly off into the night

this is just the start of the doom!

oh, hello. i wrote a sort of song-poem. it has a melody, at least to me, but it doesnt matter much if you know what it is. i can sing it, though, and put it on tumblr if you wish uvu"
i ended up singing it anyway. bluh, this is really really bad, but eh.
oh, and btw, im sorry i dont have a story for you to go off of, i seriously dont know how to write like that. so maybe this counts as like inspiration? or whatever, im soryy unu"

Silvana and Lilac had been waiting for the thirty-first to arrive as calmly as they could, which was hard since it was one of there favorite holidays. They loved to dress up and go around collecting candy and seeing other costumes, it was something they got to looked forward to doing every year. They then looked up at the clock and a smile came to both of there faces, it was time for the trick or treating to begin. They raced to their rooms to put on their costumes that they had bought several weeks before, and then stood before the mirror and adjusted it before running out of their rooms. They raced from therir rooms side by side and into the kitchen to where their mother was, Silvana skidded to a halt a few feet away from her mother with Lilac close behind her.
“Mama!” Silvana said happily. “Can I go now, please?” Lilac asked her in a half pleading tone. Their mother smiled and nodded to them. “Just be careful.’ Her mother said. “We will mama!” they called as they ran from the kitchen to the front door. Silvana and Lilac grabbed their candy buckets and headed out the door. “Love you mama! we’ll be back after a while!” they called before Lilac closed the door behind her. They walked to the side walk and stopped looking left then right, trying to decide which side they should start with. “Hmmm, which way?” they said softly. “Right.” They answered themself. They then trotted to the right of their house and went to the first house, admiring the decorations as they went to the front door with smiles upon their faces. “Trick or treat!” they called in unison after ringing the doorbell.

A small group of four wandered through the night. One was a strange-colored dog whose costume was of a fluffy plant demon, but could be mistaken for a poorly made costume by her owner. Another was a tiny hippo dressed as Watson but he lost his hat at one of the houses they tricked or treated at. The bat seemed to be wearing nothing since bats already have their own Halloween costumes, so instead he brought a lantern so they could see where they were going. And the last member in their group of traveling adventurers was a tea cup. Which some how knew how to breathe and liked to eat brownies.

"Parsley thinks Riddle has lots of candy!" Parsley said cheerfully breaking my great narrative-intro-paragraph-thing. Riddle made a small cheeky grin as she heard Cookies grunt sounding displeased. "It's because most people can't appreciate my amazing costume!" Cookies muttered as he fluttered behind them more making the fog around them seem to grow darker, "Cookies don't stray behind!" Riddles snapped and he grumbled something about 'bossy dogs' under his breath as he flew closer to them. Riddles squinted her eyes trying to find the next house or street. They had been walking on the forest trail for the longest time and it seemed the group was getting no where. "Are you sure we're heading the right direction?" Bob asks as a frown spreads on his face causing his mustache to droop, he then carefully adjusted it. "I hope so," Riddle said softly and sniffed the air trying to find something familiar but all she got in her efforts was the damp smell of a fog.

"Maybe I should lead the way," Cookies quipped as he started to fly forward, "No, I got it Cookies," Riddle said quickly before he could even fly past her head. "Parsley is scared," Parsley said with a small whimper sounding more like a frightened puppy than a tea cup. Riddle sighed and started to go at a more faster and determined pace. "Hey! I see some lights ahead!" Bob called out and a small smile passed over his face as he raced towards it. "Wait up Bob!" Riddle called out as she too started to run after the lights. "Stop running! You know I can't fly that fast!" Cookies yelled as he started to follow after them. "Weeeee! Parsley likes ride!"

The four then stopped at the edge of the forest and looked out at the neighborhood they had stumbled into. "I heard their candy is two times larger than the ones we get at the other neighborhood!" Bob exclaims as he licks his lips thinking about the candy.
"I told you we'd get here Cookies!"
"Riddle you said 'I HOPE we get here."
"Close enough."
She says with a small snort as she starts to cross the street to the houses. Bob already could smell the candy even though they were only in the middle of the street, "Giant milk balls, Gummybears, and skittlesssss...." he said with his voice trailing off thinking about them. "I say we start at this house and then head to the left and then eventually cross the street and head back to the forest," Riddle says and then walks up to the house without waiting for an answer. They all then say in unsion,
"Trick or Treat!"
