I went to an Livestock Auction Barn for the first time today and the handlers had an Hot Stick which emits a small electrical charge to get the animals to move. This is just plain out cruel and I hate it. They were even zapping the small tiny baby goats and the full grown cows and bulls. And the donkeys! All of em! And because of the zappers, I got hit with cow poop. I wanted to hit one of the handlers with one of those electric sticks so bad. These sticks should be illegal! And I don't even understand why they even MAKE those stupid electrical hot sticks. They beat the animals and everything. This is just plain cruel. Anyone else agree? Comments Appreciated.

I used to live on a cattle property (now living with sheep) and my dad had one of those. But he didn't like it so he got a piece of pipe and put a frayed piece of rope in it. It was called a fluffy! which was better than a zapper.

They nearly killed a baby goat at this Auction Barn. (My first time ever!) I loved the Catwalk where you got to see all the animals and they had 3 full grown donkeys (One was a mule. One was a Jack. The other was a Ginny) And they sold all three as a group for 5 dollars. I was astonished. I got hit by poop from a Black Angus and my friend told me that he was the King of Cows. He was taller than me at the Shoulder! And he sneezed on me and my friend told me after he hit me with poop this: "Well, now your initiated!"

Our farm had angus cattle! But no donkeys or goats or horses. Just cattle. Now we have sheep and they've become one of my fav animals! They're loyal and sweet things, even if most of them run away at the sight of a bee. XD

Have you ever heard of Scare Goats? Well if you just barely jump at them or put a loud noise around them, they fall over stiff as a board. But they are okay. They just do that. Its so cute. We have A full sized Ginny donkey, a 7 month old minature dokey named Cupcake and a Gelding that tries to eat my hair. We also have 17 or 18 baby chickens alreayd laying eggs. Never had cows before so that is a thing to experience. And my parents wanted cattle for eating them and I said, "We are only getting cows for milk. I forbid you all to eat them." I got my way. it makes me c ry at the thought of eating a cow, even though I love burgers and steak. XD

I really hate auctions, or at least the ones I used to go to as a child.

We used to have these diary goat mixes. We bought them from auctions. They were only a DAY old -- some of them probably didn't even get colostrum, the beginning of the milk that is pretty much a NECESSITY to surviving. They were all sick and dehydrated. Once we bought a female boer goat. She was in horrible condition and we found out she was FULL OF WORMS.

My parents said that eating animals and selling em is like a business. I replied with, "Business my butt. More like slaughter house."
