I'm sorry to hear that.
My friend's mom found a bird outside their house. He looked injured so I asked for some gloves and picked him up. She took my friend and I to a bird sanctuary not far from where we live and she said he might have just hit the mailbox but we found out later he had gotten hit by a car and died because of internal bleeding.
He was a house sparrow.
I drew this in memory of him. Most likely wont be finished ever

I know how you feel. We've had six lizards that died, a baby Chickadee that my little sister found, and a snake that got its tail chopped by our lawnmower.
