There is a really convoluted story to go with this. The gist of it is:
Jasper and Blitz are siblings who escape their abusive family to build a pack of their own.
They settle on making a back that offers aid to those who also do not come from good homes.
They slowly make new friends and lasting relationships.
Kaiser and Rae come along, seeing the pack as a way to live but not work, the join.
Several pack members express their concerns, but Jasper and Blitz are reluctant to act because it is the mission of the pack to help.
Eventually, a situation arises where the pack can no longer function as is.
So, Jasper, Blitz, Jericho, Surik, Nyra, Isuelt, Amarok, and Renegade all vote.
It is decided it would be best if the pack split.
Kaiser and Rae object, they were not asked. Plus, less members means more work for them.
Jasper explains that they are the reason for the split, exasperated by the situation.
Kaiser and Rae abruptly shut up, they would rather take their chances with the remainder of the pack then leave.
Jasper and Blitz say their goodbyes.
Blitz, Renegade, Jericho, Surik, and Ryker all leave - traveling south to start a now life.
Jasper: So. . . Have you reached a decision?
Blitz: Yes. I think it is time to say goodbye.
Jasper: I am sorry it came to this.
