When drawing a fist, the thumb normally goes under the other fingers.
I think this image is perfect anyway.. Waaay better than what I can do.

If you should hit something, then the thumb doesn't go under the other fingers. Although it wouldn't be quite so long, but if you image google "fist" you'll see that the thumb never go under the other fingers

I didn't mean under under the fingers ._. I meant that they don't go over the index finger etc.
make a fist, and you see that your thumb fits snuggly under them, not behind them.


UNDER the fingers :I You can't break your thumb that way, it's how a fist is made.
